Reviews are one of the best ways to differentiate your company from competitors. They allow your customers to be your best marketing tool. In fact, 61% of enterprise buyer say that third party reviews are more important than the information on the companies website. So how do you get your customers to write reviews? Here are some simple things you can do to maximize your reviews.
Ask
Don’t worry about alienating your customers. Asking for reviews is now just another part of doing business. Waiting for reviews to just happen can be a lost opportunity. Asking for customer feedback shows them that you care about their experience. This has been common practice for consumer businesses for a while, but is new in the B2B world.
And guess what? Happy customers are the most likely to write a review when asked. Unfortunately the same happy customers probably won’t go online to write the review without you actively reaching out. Here are some tips for asking for reviews:
Engage
Turn customers into your business evangelist. Reaching out to your best customers is a great way to build up your positive reviews. . 89% of happy customers are willing to right a review. While a quick email asking for them to help you out by giving a review might be enough, a better method is to have their main contact person give them a call to check in and personally ask for help in the form of a review. Follow up with an email thanking them and asking for feedback on how you performed. Let them know it matters to you.
Timing
When you ask for a review can affect the response rate. The best time to reach out is right after they have a positive interaction with your company. After you have delivered products, completed a project or help your customer solve a problem, ask them for their feedback on how you performed. You will see a much higher percent of customers writing reviews if you reach out promptly. Another reminder email a few days later can account for a huge bump in response rate.
Help
Make writing a review as easy as possible for them. Even your biggest supporters are not going to hunt around for how to write you a review. Provide a link directly to the write review page. You should put the link in multiple places, on your website, in thank you emails and on invoices. Also, provide some topics that they might want to elaborate on. This could include customer service, quality of product, timeliness of delivery or solving a hard problem.
Reply
Responding to reviews demonstrates that they are important to your business and that you care about the feedback your customers are providing. New and current customers see you actively engaging with reviews are more likely to write one themselves.
