we recently just purchased a Dino Lite for our lab, oh wow! i can't believe i didn't know about this until now. This is such a cool piece of equipment. great camera system and so easy to set up and get yourself going. the display quality is great and so cost effective for what you get. we may order another one or two because of the quality and price of the equipment

not really a good place to go as you would imagine to get parts for a radio.... more of a cell phone store now. staff is helpful, probably bc they are bored.... anyways, i've recently given up coming here when i need electronics or A/V parts and just head to fry's or jameco or if you can wait, order online at monoprice or amazon for your A/V wires or a plethora of vendors for your electronics parts.
Strengths: nothing in particular, maybe phones....

Rich has supplied me with great service and even better parts. Optimized is a small shop that allows for a lot of interaction between the machinist and the designer, which leads to better designed, less expensive parts. Optimized can start by building 5-10 parts, then quickly fixture to produce 500-1000 parts as your needs grow. Highly Recommended!

I have used Labview and the NI hardware throughout my career at multiple companies. The software is a excellent and a robust piece of software that allows an engineer to focus on getting the results needed rather than spending too much time in the programming aspect. For prototype needs as well as production level needs, the software is capable of meeting all those needs at both ends of the spectrum. It is much easier to learn and begin getting results (data acquisition, signals, etc.)
The hardware is very high quality and well tested by the company, so you will know the capabilities and limitations of each hardware you use. It will hold up to the rigors of an engineering lab and constant changes in configurations. But just like the software, the integration of the hardware with the Labview package, makes putting together a test system extremely convenient and quick once you are capable.
Customer service has also consistently been excellent and local field support and sales engineers are readily available for basic needs.
An excellent company.
Strengths: Labview is a very robust software package. Hardware by NI are all of the utmost quality and performance.

great customer service and knowledge by their staff. even though most members i've interacted have been phd scientists, they have all been extremely helpful and friendly in supporting my project needs.
all test material is handled with care and carefully documented. i have had possibly over 200 units tested by the lab, and maybe 1 has encountered a test issue that was carefully documented. still required a replacement test piece, but this was all anticipated for and no delays in testing or report filings were encountered as all test plans were structured and planned for.
they will still remain one of my go-to labs and experts to lean on within the industry.
Strengths: They know their stuff period.
Staff members are all extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
I have used them at four different companies, and are generally my go-to lab for any corrosion related testing. Have successfully filed regulatory filings to the FDA and CE bodies without any issues with all my projects that have involved CTL.
They are also currently up to date on any of the current standards as well as extremely knowledgeable on the trends within the industry and FDA, ASTM, etc (some members are also involved with the ASTM as well as providing recommendations to the FDA) and have consistently assisted me in ensuring the direction and testing i am conducting remains solid.

excellent magnifying lamps. i've used them numerous times in various companies in our labs and have been very happy with their products

i've used various tools from them and have been pleased with the quality. obviously their wrenches are the most well known, and most excellent but in general, their tools have been excellent.

good quality disinfectants to get rid of any worry about crap on your part. been pleased with the results and quality of the products

better than sprint, but probably not as good as verizon. i've used them in the past for a company phone and it was decent service. my preference is verizon, but they are usually more expensive. t-mobile is a good alternative that is cheaper and is able to offer better data plans.

a very good general use adhesive and glue and pretty cheap and easy to find at any of your local hardware stores, especially when you don't need the quality and reliability of a Loctite specific adhesive

x-acto blades are awesome and essential to your lab and prototyping needs. good control and decent durability. cheap enough to also just swap blades out as they dull out so you can ensure maximum results and control

great shop to go to for heat treating your components. results are great and the staff is very helpful

great braiders for medical device braiding. i have used these for many types of braiding for braid reinforced catheter tubing and the quality of the products have been great. i've used them from i believe 12 wire up to 48 wire braids and they have all output excellent results. gets a bit finicky when it gets to larger number of wires and smaller (.001") as it may break easily, but once you get it set up well, it runs great.

decent fixtures and bathroom items. the aesthetics are pretty good and quality as well compared to many of the other common brands you see at home depot or lowes.

overrated A/V cables that just have pretty colors. if you find yourself with a sales rep at best buy pushing these cables on you, run away. they only offer a aesthetic (much like their beats headphones). quality is not worth the price or just being smart about how you lay your wire and having a small amount of understanding of maxwell's laws. you can find equally in quality of cables for fraction of the price if you go to Monoprice.com or some other sources. getting good quality shielding and connections on your cables does not come at the price of $100 when you can get it probably at $10. save the money and put it towards a quality receiver where you actually will notice the differences

a good resource to go to to off-load inspection requirements for a project if your site doesn't have the capabilities or resources to do so. they have provided excellent service and quality/results in the past for some tests i needed performed.

i have used them for some multi lumen extrusions and small sub-assembly components. the quality was excellent and met all our needs. their staff is very helpful as well.

we have used them in the past for a custom specialized guide-wire like project. we were able to successfully complete it with the staff at lake region manufacturing, packaging, etc with their capabilities to produce this with us leading the design requirements. it was a much faster path than for us to build one in-house and source the materials and equipment. everything was able to be completed on time and with eventual CE/FDA approvals. their staff was very helpful and collaborative throughout the process.

similar to fry's in being a box store where you can get your computer components. ok in my opinion, better options out there if you don't need something immediately right this minute

generally more expensive than other stent manufacturing companies and i agree with the general sentiment by others here with their lead times generally being longer than promised.
i've used them on a few occasions and have generally experienced this. they have excellent quality and attention to detail with what they deliver.
