Biomechanics R&D

I was in need of some biomechanical testing to determine if our medical procedure was able to withstand the loads the body would place on it. I found Biomechanics R&D on the internet and gave them a try. Normally I used Exponent or RIH Orthopaedics for our biomedical testing but they are a bit on the expensive side for what we needed done. This wasn't for a report or FDA submission. It was more of investigative / problem solving mission.

Tom was able to help us fixture up what we needed in his shop and get the initial testing done much quicker than other places have been able to. He also secured the specimens we needed for the test and had the prepared and waiting for us when we got there. He was friendly and knowledgeable about the ASTM standards and the rates things should be tested.

Strengths: Quick and dirty shop with the lowest price we could find for biomechanical testing.

Needs to improve: I said dirty right? The place would not win any awards for cleanliness. With specimens being used, we are a be wary of touching much without gloves.
