We use some craftsman tools in an automotive shop that i work in. We have mostly switched to full snap on tools and so i have a good idea on how these two compare. The craftsman are great tools for the average joe that needs to get things done around the house here and there. But if you're constantly wrenching, they aren't nearly as good as snap ons. They are heavier, not as durable, and not as efficient. Also, sears no longer carries as good of a warranty as they used to on their tools. They used to have a lifetime warranty and now everything seems to be limited warranty. Overall great for around the house jobs but def. not suitable for repetitive industrial use.

Greats tools for those on a budget or even the professional mechanic.

Strengths: Best bang for the buck tools around. Huge selection, excellent warranty, and chances are you are close to a sears store.

Needs to improve: You need to be careful with some of the tools and their warranties. Gone are the days that all craftsman tools come with life time warranty. I feel that their quality has slipped a little through the years but they are still top notch in my opinion. I still prefer to use snap-on tools as they are more precise and reliable.

One of the tools my company provides to us is Craftsman. I use Craftsman hand tools for repairing and assembling medical device. Easy to use and it makes our job easier. Tools are a little heavier compare to other brand tools we have in my department but it is not a big deal for me. I recommend these tools for someone who works in a manufacturing field.

Needs to improve: There's always room for improvement. Maybe, making the tools lighter would make it more handy.

Growing up, I used my dad's old Craftsman tools and never had a problem. I have since purchased my own tools for work and personal use. In the last several years I have broken several ratchets and sockets. While I would prefer to not have this happen, they are very good about replacing broken or damaged tools. With Craftsman tools being sold at Osh, Sears, and Kmart, it's not too difficult to replace them.

Needs to improve: Quality isn't what is used to be.

These are some of the best bang for the buck tools. Probably not the quality/durability for a Indy500 pit crew, but for the normal folk like me doing the occasional work on the car, house repairs, can't beat the quality you get from Craftsman for the price you pay. The tools will generally last a lifetime with that type of usage in my opinion. I have been happy so far with my craftsman purchases.

Craftsman tools are the industry leader and known across the globe. Available almost anywhere and largely a reason why our small assembly team is equipped with them. We buy Craftsman because of the ease of ordering, access and turnaround time. If we need something, we can quickly go get it. Time is money and the durability of Craftsman ensures that we can make more of it. Great products and service.

Great product, expensive. This product is geared towards home/personal use. Not recommended for a high volume manufacturing facility.

Strengths: Excellent "Crafts"manship. Provides lifetime warranty, which is great, but there are many no-name brands that provide the same type warranty. We tried using this for my company, but it costs a FORTUNE to provide small tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, nut drivers) to an assembly staff of 100+.

Needs to improve: Price, price, and price. We have found more affordable tool brands that provide lifetime warranties.

Craftsman products are readily available. I can always find them in stores and my go to over any generic brand. They are reasonably priced and will get the job done.

Needs to improve: sometimes not as tough as competitors, wears quicker than some pricier competitors, but you get what you pay for and the value of craftsman products exceed many competitors.

I've used many of Craftsman's power tools in the lab to assemble, dis assemble and repair dialysis machines. their power drills are very reliable and the batteries have a very long life span which helps me a lot with speedy repairs because I don't have to stop and replace the battery.

we keep a few of craftsman's power drills in the tool cabinet in our department to assist us in removing stripped screws. the high torque range on their power drills is very convenient for removing all types of stripped screws with ease. the price range is also very fair on all Craftsman products.

We have different brands of power tools in the lab, and this works just as well as any of the other ones we have (in particular the drill). We primarily drill into sheetmetal. No real complaints.

Strengths: Priced very reasonable. Batteries can be used for other powertools. Backed by Sears.

Needs to improve: As mentioned by some other people, the battery doesn't seem to last that long.

I use Craftsman tools for just about everything. A sears brand that has a good warranty. Some tools are no longer manufactured in the US but I guess it was only a matter of time. Quality is not what it seems but a good warranty provides piece of mind.

Strengths: Great tool that rivals Snap On. Amazing price to quality and superb selection, backed up by Sears stores which carry most of the available tools. Best warranty in the industry. We use Craftsman tools at work and are very satisfied. Socket sets are such a great value.

Some things break easy and some things last forever!! Its a good product and I will use it all the time.

Strengths: I use craftsman tools at my job. They have the best warranty out there. If it breaks take it in and trade it in. Its as easy as that. I use sockets and wrenches and Ratchets.

We use a mix of many brands of hand tools in the shop which include Craftsman. The wrenches and ratchets are accurate and high quality. I have broekn two sockets and a ratchet and returned them with no fuss what so ever.

We use a few craftsman tools at work and i own some for the house. Really nice tools with a great no question asked warranty. Ive had some that broke and went into to sears and were replaced even with out a receipt.. cant get better than that
