horrendous software. very intrusive to the system and slows it down. ridiculous to uninstall, better off doing a clean format wipe to get this crap off your computer

Our experience with McAfee has been a very positive one. Their software stood out amongst the rest and we are very pleased we chose them. Our account manager gave us some time to test the software in a test environment and we came away very pleased. The price for such enterprise software was very competitive.

Strengths: We use McAfee in our place of business for anti-virus protection. This client/server software has been extremely helpful and easy to use. We have over 500 clients with the McAfee client and it has been very helpful for our IT staff. McAfee reports in real time and submits reports to our department every day. McAfee's also helpful for removing malware and preventing malware from spreading onto systems.

Needs to improve: None to report.

mcafee used to be one of the best anti virus programs. lately it just seems very bloated and ineffective. for a windows PC, microsoft security essentials is by far the best anti virus software (it uses minimal resources, does not slow your system down, etc). mcafee just is well past its prime. also the founder is a little crazy these days too

We use McAfee software on all our computers and for the most part it doeas a fairly decent job at providing protection from viruses and other outside threats. Inspite of having the software we will everyonce in a while have our system hacked into or be infected by a virus. Eventhough you have the software, you still have to keep your gaurd up.

Strengths: McAfee makes software for computer and internet security and virus protection.

Needs to improve: Not always reliable and can give a false sence of security.

Our company uses McAfee to protect our network from viruses and other malicious software and attacks. Since we started using them we noticed considerable fewer amounts of network speed decreases and virus issues. Their upgrades are online so it is nice that it is not locally loaded. We have a lot outside traffic and their software protects our company and so far no issues. You can go test them out for your business purposes.

When I first bought my laptop, I purchased the McAfee AntiVirus Plus for $34.99. It worked great and secured my laptop from viruses and malware. I wanted the whole package so I actually bought the LiveSafe recently and my laptop, as well as our family PC, is fully secured! From hackers to dangerous emails! Thank you, McAfee.

Needs to improve: Not much since it protects not only PC's, but other devices such as smartphones and laptops.

I use McAfee at work and now at home on my computers to avoid any viruses. It's been helpful as I once never used this software and lost a lot of my files due to a virus. I'm glad I have McAfee now and never worry about losing any of my files. Especially the very important ones!

Needs to improve: Can be pricey but it is worth it seeing that there are so many hackers these days.

McAfee is not the best and not the worst antivirus software, but I prefer Microsoft Defender (aka Microsoft Security Essentials)

We have this antivirus software on our computers at work. I also run it at home. I can safely say that its stopped 7 potential threats and home, and possibly more at work. Its about $80/year for personal use, and even more for bulk packaging.

Strengths: They run quick checks in the background to optimize computer performance. They also have a large director of known viruses, and quarantine accordingly.

Needs to improve: Pricey

Tried out McAfee software for firewall and antivirus. Moved on to other options as we found Mcafee did not scale well and did not work well with our existing systems and needs. For smaller scale use maybe acceptable. Nothing wrong with software itself. Definition updates are adequate.

I use mcafee for my computer software security at my job. I have been using it for years abd have never had and problems with the software. Its easy to install. Mcafee also has great customer service. It can be a little pricy but well worth it

I save a lot of important document on my computer. should these documents get infected, I would be lost, I would especially affect the production builds as I generate daily reports. McAfee helps protect these files and it actually caught a few viruses for me.

McAfee is a good anti-virus software but not great. Sometimes it eats up CPU and memory resources until you refresh or reboot your system. It became expensive too after quite some time.
