Southeastern Freight Lines

Shipper placed my order of a pallet of tile to be delivered via small truck with a lift gate to my home. Southeastern Freight sent me a text to select a delivery window. I selected between 1pm and 4pm. I get a call at 5:30 from the driver insisting it is probably too late to come by. I assured him it is not and I'd appreciate receiving my order. Then the driver said well I can't drive down that road anymore due to a city ordinance. I said I'm aware of the no through traffic ordinance for semis on this road but it doesn't apply to semis that have a delivery address on this road AND your company came to my house 2 years ago with a much larger delivery. The driver said I have to listen to my supervisor and he said I cannot drive down that road and you'll need to come meet me to pick up your material. I asked for the supervisor to call. Bobby called and said that their regional safety office will not let them come down this road as they were fined by the police for doing such. I asked if they were just passing through or if they were fined for delivering something to someone that lives here and he said they were fined for trying to deliver something to someone that lives on this road. I asked for details of this fine but they refused to provide such. I spoke to the sheriff's office who said that is BS as no one had even been fined for using the road inappropriately as a pass through yet and if they are delivering to a home here they would never be fined. He told me to have them call him about such directly. I called Southeastern Freight to let them know that Bobby lied to me about receiving a fine and to clarify with them that they can absolutely deliver anything they want here just as they have before without fear of receiving a fine. Dalton there instead of thanking me said that they will not be coming down here as now it is a driver safety issue. To make matters worse, when I contacted my shipper previously they said they paid Southeastern Freight to bring a small truck with a lift gate to my home in the first place. When I mentioned that to Southeastern Freight, they said well we don't even have a small truck and we only realized that you lived on that "unsafe" road when our driver was almost to your home... This company accepts agreements without even looking to see if they have the equipment to do the job and only realized they didn't want to deliver it when they were almost 2 hours late. When I did extra work for them to let them know they have several internal issues i.e. supervisor lieing about having been fined, regional safety office ill informed about the routes finer details - I was met with a defensive attitude and more rationale on why they won't deliver for new reasons instead of any form of apology or trying to do the job they were paid and agreed to do. I'll be making sure to ask any future shipper to avoid this company at all costs and advise everyone to do the same. There are plenty of amazing shippers out there that deserve more business

Only good things to say about this place. The employees are hard working and seem very busy most of the time. Everyone is friendly and helpful and my supplies are received on time and without damage. If you're in need of a freight company on the east coast you can't go wrong with these guys.
