Square

I was one of the early adopters, so have been using their card reader for a few years now. They truly changed the industry. There's of competition gunning for Square's spot (and trashing them in their marketing campaigns) but Square is hard to beat in it's simplicity and specialization.

Other companies advertise better rates but charge monthly fees and/or per transaction fees (and therefore could end up costing more if you sell lower ticket items, i.e. 2.75% @ Square vs. 2% + $.35 @ Company B), equipment costs, and complicated mobile apps. Square does what it needs to and does it well. Plus, it is a recognized name and customers trust the brand.

I'm happy with Square.

Strengths: Simple, low, flat rate. Good phone app. First to market, and still [one of] the best. Quick payments.

Needs to improve: Customer service hard to reach. While this hasn't applied to me, as I have't needed them, I've heard larger businesses have had issues with this. I've had problems with phone compatibility in the past, but those have been cleared up. The readers sometimes die, but I've never had an issue with [free!] replacements and having extras on hand.

Square is our on the go payment method when our company has on-site events. this really is the new method of payment whether it is for a small company like mine or even larger companies whom we work with. its very easy to set up with most electronics and just need to download the system onto the device and request an attachment. they even allow receipts to either be printed like the traditional way or emailed to your client. there is a small surcharge for sells but with convenience, ease of use and great support they offer makes this device worth it. they have a 2.75% charge per sell and the device is able to accept all major CC's. deposits are very quick, usually 1-2 business days.

During my travels, I will find a customer who would be more than happy to buy my samples because they just have to have it. The rates per transition is more than generous and the rebate per reader is also great. I am glad to have chosen Square over other portable payment systems. When I meet customers,I always recommend Square if they are having a problem finding a simple POS system. I see more and more customers using Square when they find out how simple and reasonable it is. Definitely a good choice for processing payments.

Needs to improve: The only issue I have with square is that their readers are very fragile and break easily

I have always had a great experience while dealing with them i would love to tell you about there customer service but i have not had to deal with them as there machine and equipment works and has yet to fail. I have been using them for over a year now!

Strengths: We use square on a daily basis to procure payment from over 50 sites on a monthly basis. It is reliable and Easy to use. The small percentage they take is well worth the ease of use and convenience of having a portable CC machine.

Needs to improve: Could use a way to print out paper receipt?

I don't know what I would do without Square. Before Square, I used a system from Veriphone and it was very expensive. I had to pay a monthly fee for the equipment and a percentage of every swipe. With Square, I only have to buy a very cheap card reader and my phone and I only pay 2% per swipe. Now I can receive payment any time and any place for a very low cost. I have never had any problems with the service.

We have purchased Credit Card Readers/Square's payment system to be used in store. This allows are company to get rid of large size cash registers that are bulky and take up lots of possibly useful space. I also will say that their customer service and in house expertise make it so that you as the customer that wants to constantly come back and renew use of their products. I highly recommend them.

when we do off-site clinics and when insurance does not cover the service or if we are doing an off site clinic for another company, we use square to collect payment. it has made payment very easy, convenient, hassle free. the device itself is sleek, small and portable. the app is free to d/l and the service fee is very low. convenient for small business that do work off-site

Where I have volunteered, we running the organization, use square as the reader of credit cards or to keep track of cash. It makes the process of paying much more streamlined. They allow us to easily keep track of sales and prices, and allow us to easily track our profits. It also allows us to get rid of bulky cash registers in exchange for I pads or other tablets which is always nice.

Great service. Easy to store and pack away. Fast and easy payments. Very small so watch where you store it because its easy to lose or misplace.

Strengths: I used to use tbe square for my personal training clients at the gym. The square is very convenient. It is small and lightweight wich makes it easy to store and pack away. Payments are immediate and reliable.

Strengths: This a convenient, portable payment method that we use for our business. It is easy to use, secure, and our employees find it very handy. it was quick and easy to set up, competitively priced with representatives always available to answer any questions we might have, by telephone or online.

Square is amazing. I use it all the time at group lunches where everyone is paying seperately. I simply pay thembill with my credit card, and everyone else pays me individually with their own credit card. It's much easier than everyone having to come up with an exact amount.

Strengths: Square allows anyone to accept debit or credit card payment with an Iphone or Ipad. The service is inexpensive and very easy to use.

It is the best mobile electronic payment solution. Never had any problems with Square, it's so convenient.

square is a great tool for small business owners. i have helped out friends who own small businesses and find this a great tool to process credit card payments and avoid the hassle of a traditional payment structure especially if you have a business that is mobile or moves around a bit.

I use Square everyday for my traveling business. My clients can pay for my services with any credit card and even leave a tip for great service! Receipts can be sent to my clients email or by text with ease.

i find that the product really comes in handy and makes it convenient

A concept we were entertaining for our reps who go out and do cases and use their own inventory and will need to collect a PO for it. Instead, they bill and get payment immediately after a case.

Square is very easy for small businesses. I can allow people to pay with any credit cards when they don't have cash or don't have a PayPal account.

Square enables payments on the go. A great piece of technology that helps both the merchant and the buyer have confidence with mobile purchases. Can easily be used to charge clients in the field.
