our R&D department uses MATLAB which is a software created by Mathworks for numerical analysis and computing needs for our data. it is a very math heavy software that is capable of computing very complicated algorithms with high accuracy. the mathematicians and engineers in our R&D dept are usually the individuals who use this software the most. Because it is so math heavy, it may be difficult for non math oriented staff members to use and navigate the software. our staff members use MATLAB for matrix manipulation, function and data plotting, they are currently on version 8.3 which was released this year. the new update has mainly simplified compiler setup along with other minor changes. this is a highly sophisticated software that is capable of analyzing and manipulating complicated data. great for number heavy data

Strengths: numerical computing, matrix manipulations, functions/data plotting, implementation of algorithms and interfaces with C, C++, Java, and Fortran. very affordable in price.
