Data 911 Public Safety Data

I maintain the contract for purchase and continuing support for our data 911 mobile computing equipment. We have generally been satisfied with their products and they make nice terminal only cab systems. Their customer support can be improved, but it partially depends on who you service rep is. We have had difficulty interfacing the systems with other add on equipment such as license plate readers. Overall, they make a pretty decent mobile computing system.

Strengths: Excellent user interface. Rugged equipment. Ergonomic design. High function daylight monitors. Excellent black quality monitors. Touch screen interface. Intuitive design and function.

Needs to improve: Still require DOS commands for intricate searches. Unstable modems and prone to system crashes. Difficult to read returns. Limited messaging capacity.
