Drake Software

I am so happy with Drake software. I have been using them since 2005 and every year their software gets better and better. It offers the same features as the most expensive software and many free features that would not be available with the others. Drake is not just professional tax preparation software, I use it year round for pay roll and bookkeeping. Last year for the first time, I tried Intuit's Proseries because I wanted to see what was being offered with a more expensive software. That was a huge mistake and a huge waste of money. I am back with Drake for good.

Strengths: Drake makes a low cost easy to use professional tax preparation software. They have excellent customer service. The program does exactly what the other more expensive software does at a fraction of the cost. Software also has a lot of free add ins like free pay roll, free write up services and free document manager that actually works very well.

Needs to improve: Unable to directly override an entry on the forms.

Our finance department uses Drake Software for our corporate returns. The software is very low cost and can easily handle all 50 states. The company also uses Drake to do the taxes of our foreign H1-B visa workers.

Strengths: Drake Software makes and distributes low cost professional tax preparation software. Software can handle all 50 states. Drake Software can handle individual, corporate and partnership tax returns.
