Company Profile
EBS researches, develops and manufactures high-performance industrial Ink-Jet printers and consumables and is supplier of all of these high-quality Ink-Jet systems.
Our printers and printing systems are successfully used in a wide variety of industrial and service applications where there is a need to mark moving objects, for example, on a production line. Solutions are also available for printing onto rotating or immovable objects based on moving print-head technology.
We offer comprehensive solutions for all your product marking, labelling and coding needs. Our non-contact systems facilitate the fast printing of texts, graphic images and barcodes as well as the dating, numbering, coding and printing of data transferred from computers and external devices such as automatic scales, barcode readers and control equipment. By using the latest non-contact printing technology, firm print marking can be produced on a variety of material and surface types - even on coarse or porous surfaces or those containing depressions or protrusions. Our print-heads comprise between 1 and 352 nozzles. Their output varies in height from 1.5 mm to about 115 mm and is produced using between 5 and 64 independent dots.
Our machines are able to print on the following types of material:
paper, fabric, natural materials and plastics, metals, glass and ceramic ware, wood and wood-like products, leather and leather-like goods, construction materials and a variety of derived products,
food products and pharmaceutical agents (also directly),
raw materials; prefabricated, intermediate work-in-progress and finished goods,
objects of finite dimensions and products produced in continuous processes such as cables, pipes, insulation jackets and the like. |
We offer a wide range of organic-solvent and water based coloured pigments and non-pigment inks.
Our printers and printing systems can be tailored according to individual Client needs. In conjunction with our Representatives we can advise you on how best to solve your product marking, coding and labelling problems.
Company History
EBS Elektronische Beschriftungs-Systeme GmbH was founded in Cologne in 1984 by Jan Slomianny, and emerged out of the company Büro and Datentechnik (BDT, founded 1977).
In 1980, Jan Slomianny pioneered the development of the flexible "Drop-on-Demand Ink-Jet" (DOD) BDT 2000 and BDT 2016, suitable for practically every application. Characteristic for this type of printer and absolutely unique at that time, was the ability to adjust the print height by slanting the print head. Since then this technique has been widely used by countless companies throughout the world. The innovative design of special print heads for "quick-drying" inks, also allowed for printing on non-porous surfaces (e.g. plastic, metal, glass, rubber).
In 1983, Jan Slomianny founded Intron Elektronik in Wroclaw (Poland) who, in close co-operation with EBS, carried out intensive research further increasing the reputation of EBS in the Ink-Jet field.
Greatly encouraged by the positive response to the DOD printer, EBS pressed forward with the development of a new generation of printers. Not only did this result in the development of the DOD printers, EBS 1000 and EBS 300 but it also led to EBS branching out into the "Continuous Ink-Jet" field (CIJ 1987). Further development led to the introduction of the EBS 3000, the EBS 3001N and finally the EBS 6000 on to the CIJ market.
The present EBS 6000 series contains a selection of products to suit practically any Ink-Jet marking or coding situation.
An increase in our product range forced us to search for more office, production and of course, warehousing space. In 2000, EBS invested in a new 21000 m² site in Nümbrecht, Elsenroth, which lies in the middle of western Europe, about 50 km east of Cologne. There, our new 3500 m² ultra-modern facility with its production and service centre, was inaugurated in September 2001 to the benefit of our worldwide distributors and customers.
