Teflon coated leadscrews with anti-backlash compression nuts were specified on a DNA scanning sequencer. They were not anit-backlash really, but semi-consistent backlash. I do not believe these really have a place in reciprocating, medium to high speed applications. Replaced with a Ball Screws & Actuators leadscrew with an anti-backlash, compression nut - and that worked much better and more consistently.
Strengths: Fairly inexpensive leadscrew solutions
Needs to improve: Not a fan of their teflon coated, anti-backlash friction nut
The reliability of the slide rails are very important in micro coil manufacturing. We have purchased the motorized rgw rapid guide Linear Rails. These are key to the precision work our manufacturing workers rely on!
