not a bad place to go when you are in an immediate need for electronic components, etc. components are basic, so if you need more specialized ones, go to jameco if you are in the bay area, or you'll just have to order it through catalogs such as jameco, digikey, etc. similar to fry's in that sense, they carry computer hardware etc. still probalby better to go through newegg or amazon if you don't need it immediately

Great for projects on the go. Being able to return parts locally has its advantages when you are testing parts in the lab.

Strengths: If you're lucky to be close to one it is one of my go to places to find electronic components. Their prices are a bit on the high side but the store has almost any component you would want for most electronic related projects. Fry's Electronics is still the ultimate walk-in retail store but this one is a fairly close second.

Needs to improve: Prices are higher then what you can find online. Only purchase if you need emergently otherwise look else where.

I have had a fair experience at Micro Center. At times, I've had great customer service. Other times, not so much. Parts are plentiful and the service department is always there to assist your needs.

Strengths: MicroCenter has a variety of computer parts that one needs in a hurry. They specifically carry external hard drives that we have purchased for emergency backup. Their prices are fair and customer service is excellent. Their service department is also trustworthy and dependable.

Needs to improve: Service prices can be expensive at times.

Very good experience. We are looking into replacing more computers in our other labs. The pricing is right, the quality is good, you get more bang for your buck than the other competitors.

Strengths: We use Micro Center desktops in a few of our engineering labs. This is the 3rd year that the computers have been in service and the quality is commercial standard, versus the kind of computers built by smaller shops. The fans are still spinning quietly.

Needs to improve: The lease rates could be a little bit lower.

We used MicroCenter to purchase video equipment for our lab. The store is small so it's easy to find things quickly and get out.

Strengths: Great prices, usually as cheap as Amazon or other online retailers. They always have specials advertised on their website. They also do product returns, no questions asked.

Needs to improve: Selection is decent, but could be better. Sometimes it is hard to get any help in the store.

Strengths: The components and equipment we purchase when it comes to assembling small components on the line or programs and testing devices in our big machines their equipment are easy to use and great to work with. This company is very helpful and knowledgeable of their products to help completed an accurate order for our company.

Needs to improve: non

Micro Center is a good resource. Our IT department uses them often to buy supplies and the odd memory card. They have good prices and carry lots of different items. The only issue I have is that they advertise items that are not it stock and that is annoying.

similar to fry's in being a box store where you can get your computer components. ok in my opinion, better options out there if you don't need something immediately right this minute
