Our company has used TAP Plastics for building small fixtures and shields out of acrylic and polycarbonate sheets. These devices have been used in our labs for test devices and shields for protection against damage and as a shield to prevent operators from being hurt. TAP Plastics carries variety of shapes and sizes, plastic's and adhesives, which gives a lot of latitude to find they specific material for a quick solution. One of the things we were tasked with was holding a device under a certain amount of water to ensure we could pass an outside test. Their plastics (Hollow Tube, Plate & adhesives) allowed the engineer to come up with a quick solution and do our preliminary testing in house - time saver. Their staff is always very helpful, professional and knowledgeable and able to direct / guide for the right plastics & adhesive's to complete the job. A great place to go for a quick solution.

Needs to improve: Locations are open at different hours - depending where they are located in the Bay Area

They are the place to go when need some acrylic sheets or adhesive the same day. They carry a large enough selection to have what you need. We use them mainly when we are in a pinch and need something immediately. If it isn't a hurry, we will normally order online.

Staff is friendly and can help you out. I haven't used them to actually construct anything for us. Only as a raw material supplier for acrylic. The one quote we got for actually making a acrylic box was a bit expensive so we just made it ourselves.

Strengths: In stock acrylic sheets. Don't have to wait to get it if you need them immediately

Needs to improve: Limited selection. Mainly only carry acrylics. Looking for any other type of plastics, the selection is very limited.

We have used tap plastics as a raw material supplier for multiple plastics used in many of the products that we produce for medical devices from catheter sheaths, balloons, catheters. They provide a wide selection of plastics for us to choose from and provide expert advise on which plastics to use given our strict performance and reliability requirements. Their staff is extremely knoweldgeable and willing to spend time with you to answer your questions. Their pricing is fair. Their plastics have held up well during our testing. I will continue to use them as a supplier and have no issues recommending them to others for almost any type of industry.

I have been using TAP plastics at every company I have worked at since 1995. They can make almost anyting out of plastic. They have a lot of off the shelf plastic material that they can cut or form while you wait. A lot of our manufacturing fixtures are made with plastic parts from TAP palstics. They ave a lot of locations through out the SF Bay area and are very reasonably proced.

Strengths: Tap plastics provides unique plastic products. They canacrylic sheets to the size and shape you need. They also carry many hard to find industrial plastics. Their fabrication shops can turn your almopst any plastic design into reality. They have many conveneint locations so you can just go in and get what you need.

Needs to improve: Non

We have purchased plastic products from Tap Plastics for use across many places at our club. They have great prices on all of their plastics and really do make it affordable for you to get your plastic products. They additionally have excellent customer service and I we are extremely grateful of their customer service. The only negative that we have experienced in the past is that they will occasionally not cut custom size plastics for you and will only give you pre-cut or common size products. Besides this I will say that they are an excellent company and I highly recommend them.

When we opened our office we contacted Tap Plastics for our window tint films. They had a handful of options which in my opinion was better than having too much. we choose the one that was most appropriate for our building which was the solar control window film. We made an apt with their crew and they came the next day on time! they installed everything in one days work. They are able to do most of their work even with you in the office which was great. so far, there's no disappointment. The crew was friendly, worked quickly and were very knowledgeable

Our firm ordered some custom plastic sheets from Tap Plastics Inc for various work space tops around our plant and they have worked out fantastically. Their sheets are impact resistant which allows us to do various projects without any worry of damage. We found Tap through word of mouth and we decided to go with them because they were able to make a few custom sizes for us. Their sales staff was friendly and our order was fulfilled really quickly. If the need comes up again, we will source from Tap and recommend this vendor to all.

Strengths: Our R&D department use Tap Plastics as a source for their prototypes. They are one of our suppliers for plastic products with a large selection of raw material and custom size and shape. We mainly use them for our prototyping projects. Their technical assistance support very good and responsive. Their pricing is competitive and they have reliable services. Their quality is very good. Their customer service is very good in finding what you need. Quotes are accurate and delivery is fast.

Needs to improve: None

We have purchased window tint films from Tap Plastics last year based on a referral that had a good experience. They have a wide selection of different tints and quality. The tints we purchased are for large windows in our warehouse to block out sunlight that may sometimes compromise the the materials we have. Overall, they were on time, and came a few days after we called to make an appointment. They are very attentive and we are very pleased with our purchase. A great vendor overall!

We first ran into a need for Tap Plastics services when we found a quality control issue with one of our packages. They came recommended from a colleague and decided to try them out. They prototypes a few custom enclosures for us along with some customer sized impact resistant padding. From what we saw we were very impressed and therefore decided to source our enclosures from them. The whole process was smooth and reordering had been easy. Would highly recommend other give them a look for custom enclosure and plastics needs.

Great service, locations and experience.

Strengths: This is a great local plastics store. It is the same business model from 35 years ago. They have great expertise in all aspects of plastics, from lexan and acrylic sheets to fiberglass, resin, and other bonding adhesives. They can provide raw materials, custom manufacture pieces and cut shapes. They have been around for ever and supply many start ups with raw components. In addition, the staff is more then just sales people. They really know their stuff.

Needs to improve: Local only. Not really practical for mail order. You need to know what you are looking for.

Tap Plastics is a great place to buy cheap materials for building tool. I use Tap Plastic when it come to build for quick prototype with acrylic or delrin materials for testing. Also it's a great place to pickup material for Molding. Sometime I used the two part mold material to mold the handle holder for my fixture. It's quick, easy and cheap then send out for machining or 3D printing.

TAP is our default source for anything acryllic based. The convenience of the online ordering system is fantastic and makes things a lot easier for us and our customers. High level of customer service and attention to detail. The staff is always happy to help and given their wide selection of plastics, we routinely seek out their expert opinion. As a small operation, we seek out value. While their prices may not be the best, quality is definitely assured.

We had a special project that needed custom plastic containers. We contacted Tap Plastics for this job. We sent them the specs and they provided us a prototype. Once we finalized the details we put in the order and the plastic boxes were delivered on time per our specs. So we were able to finish our project on time and client was satisfied. We will look towards Tap Plastics for our next job.

I purchased a few parts from Tap Plastics but ended up having to use my personal credit card since their forms of payment were limited. Once I received my parts they were exactly what I was expecting. I'll have to think twice about using them in the future only because I need more flexibility when it comes to paying them.

Needs to improve: Payment methods are limited and minimum order quantities are a bit high.

Fast shipment, great quality products and plastic components. Customer service was easy to talk to (and a real person!). The adhesives are also really high quality. Price is very reasonable with Tap.

Strengths: They provide a bulk of our plastic supplies for our dialysis machines. Plastic tubing and plastic connections are of very high quality and the necessary adhesives hold up well. Tubing is very reliable and have caused no issues for dialysis machines that they are used with over large centers. Customer service is very friendly and easy to deal with.

Needs to improve: none thus far

Have used TAP plastics for build acrylic shields and test devices for R&D Engineering during the testing on certain components. At TAP they carry a variety of shapes and sizes along with adhesives for bonding. The staff is always helpful, professional and knowledgeable and able to direct and guide you to the correct location or item to complete the task. Again, the service is dependable, quick and only drawback is their pricing can be a bit high.

Purchased several custom made ploycarbonate electronic test fixture housings from them for the testing of laser control boards. Also purchased containers to ship non-sterile plastic capillary tubes for use in a diagnostic test kit.

Strengths: Great selection of off-the-shelf plastic containers and sheet materials. Also will design, cut, build, and polish custom enclosures our of any of the materials they stock.

Needs to improve: Generally, you can walk in to any location and have items cut and assembled, but sometimes there may be a wait - so call/fax your design in.

tap plastics is indeed the fantastic plastic store. it’s advantageous that if i’m working on a fixture to be able to drive to a local shop and pick up some raw material for immediate use. mcmaster carries the items that tap does, but you have to wait for shipping.

Needs to improve: they sell many types, but don’t always carry them in the store, some require special ordering

we place orders with Tap Plastics on a regular basis for their catheters and they have never failed to deliver anything less that top quality and reliability. all of their lab equipment lasts a very long time even the ones we hold on top for further research and prototypes. all of their prices are fair and shipments are always on time.
