We purchased several pieces of lab furniture, work-stations, shelves, tools, etc. All items were very high quality and very competitively priced. Shipping was very fast and at reasonable cost. Customer service was exceptional for returning a item that was not needed or didn't meet our needs.

Strengths: Wide array of products. High-quality. Rapid turn-around. Very competitive prices.

Needs to improve: Product descriptions are sometimes too meager to really know if a new item that you do not have experience with will work. That requires a phone call although their representatives are very knowledgable and helpful.

We installed and used a VIZZIA temperature monitoring system in our lab to provide real-time tracking to ensure compliance and to provide alerts when the equipment experienced temperature excursions outside the set ranges. Their software is very straight forward to use and allows remote monitoring. They provided excellent customer service to create a site map that was incorporated into the software so we could physically identify the units.

Strengths: Automate regulatory compliance of temperature controlled units thus eliminating labor-intensive manual temperature logging. Remote monitoring and alerts.

Needs to improve: None

Western IRB is well-known and widely used for study review and approval. They deliver the highest quality and are compliant with all regulations. Their web-site has recently been revised and is easier in some respects to use compared to the previous one, although searching and project drill-down capabilities are still being improved upon. They have a through process that they follow for every project. that is necessary for initial proposals, yet gets in the way of a rapid review and decision on small edits. And despite the size of the edit, you are still charged the full amount of a review. That becomes very expensive for a multi-site trial when you find a typo and the protocol needs to be revised.

Strengths: Breadth of experience and capability. Recognized leader and good reputation.

Needs to improve: Long turnaround times and expensive, especially for minor edits.

They worked with us to design a custom shipping container designed to protect sensitive medical components from temperature extremes. They built prototypes for free and allowed us to try different foam materials to achieve the R-factor needed with the lightest packaging. They then tested the temperature holding profiles of the designs in their incubators. Due to the lead of building the molds, we found it most efficient to design different iterations up front and subject them all to testing to find the best one rather than sequentially build and test each one.

Strengths: Breadth of experience and capabilities to customize existing designs or rapidly prototype new designs. Testing capabilities for elevated temperature extremes.

Needs to improve: Lead times to build and test new foam molds are such that it's better to think of iterations up front and build them all at once rather than wait to build them in sequence.

They helped us obtain critical user feedback on a medical test through a survey design that they modified on the fly to include extra questions when it became apparent we could gain additional clarification on what we thought was a secondary feature that Actionable Research understood from their experience to be an important aspect. Their additional coding and analysis were absorbed into the project with minimal additional cost. They were driven to deliver the most value they could without continual reminders that we were going beyond the original project contract. They became collaborative partners rather than just a contract service.

Strengths: Strong capabilities in study design and execution. Expertise in internet market research though survey tool design, coding, and analysis. Thorough understanding of medical device industry including clinician, physician, healthcare technician, and patient perspectives.
