Our company has ordered many items from 80/20 Inc. (The Industrial Erector Set Company), mainly 1010 aluminum extrusion (1x1, 1.5x1.5 & 1.5x2 various lengths), angle supports, bolt sets (10-32, 1/4-20 & metric), leveling feet, etc... They offer an extreme amount of fastening and solutions to make fixtures, tables, shelves, walls, etc... They are a great solution for a quick fix or making devices (fixtures) that can be broken down quickly and used for other applications. Our engineering, manufacturing, production and facilities departments rely on 80/20 to complete our internal job requirements. 80/20 has a great engineering & internal sales team to answer all question pertaining to; quotes, parts availability, delivery, samples, etc... And they are very price competitive compared to doing custom fabricated parts, a complete time saver when it comes to assembly... great company.
Strengths: - Accurate Quotes - Quality Products - Fast Turnaround - Customer Service Knowledgeable Staff - Attention to Detail - Design Assistance - On-time Delivery - Extensive Website - Wide Selection - Metric & Inch
Needs to improve: I find that some time it is hard to locate the ideal part on 80/20 due to the extensive amount of different parts and configurations - Too much to choose from and one cannot make a quick decision.

I've used 8020 components for years, and each year, they seem to add more capabilities and parts to their catalog, which makes things easier and easier. The one caveat is that I do think there is a learning process to be able to adapt to their building system - new engineers typically have to build a few to get the hang out of optimal construction. More instructions or examples might be helpful for new people.
Overall I can't recommend their goods highly enough. However, it would be a lot nicer if ordering were easier.
Strengths: Great products. If you want to build enclosures, fixtures, or anything that requires some kind of frame, 8020 is a fast and affordable way to go. The components are high quality and if made properly, your construction will last for ages. Much more affordable than building a frame yourself.
Needs to improve: Putting your creation together can sometimes be a project, but overall it's the fastest way to scratch something together without going entirely custom.
Customer Service cannot take an order over the phone and are of little help. The web site was created by a junior high student - for example when you change the ship to address the billing address changes as well. If the billing address is not exactly specific the order is rejected.

I've worked with 80/20 (and it's competitors) for many years throughout my career. From a quality and flexibility standpoint, 80/20 is absolutely the best. You can use their software to help you design your project, then use their estimator to help create a build of materials. You can even have 80/20 cut your aluminum extrusions to length which reduces waste material and ensure your cuts are square.
My experience with 80/20 has always been positive and when building a new machine I almost always think of 80/20 when considering how to frame a machine.
Strengths: 80/20 is known for it's flexible "errector-set" style aluminum extrusion line. Their products are versatile. They have phenomenal customer service and can be counted on to deliver their products quickly and accurately.
Needs to improve: Price could be 80/20's only weakness. Their are cheaper alternatives in this field, so beware of price if your project has budget constraints.

I am using 80/20 to construct an enclosure for a sensitive piece of equipment. The online product catalog was extremely easy to use, and I was able to go from having no idea about any of their products to feeling confident that I was choosing the correct products for my application. Just to make sure that my design would work properly, I contacted customer service and the representative I spoke with was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about what would work and how their products could make it work better. Overall working with 80/20 has been a great experience. I will definitely use them again in the future.
Strengths: awesome customer service, intuitive product catalog, large range of products, quality products
Needs to improve: it is not easy to find vendors. it would be helpful if the products were available to purchase directly from 80/20

I purchased an isolation station for a lab to stabilize a piece of equipment. An enclosure was also needed to prevent air drafts. 80/20 rails were recommended by a co-worker. We were able to find the correct product that we needed with a nearby vendor. The sales rep was very helpful in helping us identify the correct wind resistant material and inserts. I have used 80/20 rails in previous projects and found them easy to assemble, durable and adaptable to many designs. I would recommend them for constructing table-top enclosures.
Strengths: Selection and Quality of 80/20 rails
Needs to improve: None
We use 80/20 for almost all of our machine framing that is done by our in-house machinist/engineer. The material serves as an excellent use for framing and making solid machines. The look is also very professional and impressive. I'd say it is a bit expensive, but worth the investment on machines that will be around for a long time.
Strengths: Superior quality
Needs to improve: None
Purchased aluminum exrusions to assemble a test fixture. They have a pretty easy to use online catalog, but couldn't order directly thru them. They have tons of acsessories that work with their extrusions.
Strengths: They sell aluminum extrusions for construction. They carry wide range of sizes and all needed accessories for assembly.
Needs to improve: More expensive than other suppliers.
We've used 80/20 aluminum extrusion to build many fixtures, stands and enclosures. The metal can be easily cut to custom lengths. The available connectors make assembly super easy. there is no limit to the what you can build with this stuff. Love this stuff!
Strengths: Very customizable, fun to assemble, good connectors, easy to use
Needs to improve: None
The 80/20 is great for building any type of structure. The "lego" format allows you to easily build fixtures, stands, tables, enclosures or anything else you can think of. The even have linear slide attachments so you can make manufacturing equipment. Overall an extremely versatile system.
Strengths: Lego type aluminum extrusion and components

I've used 80/20 extrusions for designing fixture and fixture stands. It is great for making modular items. Great if you need to add things on later.
Strengths: Easy to use. Low cost. Good looking parts. Many options to help you design. Cad files available for cad design.

Great Stuff. It's like an Erector Set for Adults. The modular components allow you to build any form of structure. From Tables to Jigs to enclosures. They also have linear bearings to allow you to build moving equipment.
Strengths: Modular Components for Building Structures

Used 80/20 for numerous machine bases. For simpler projects, 80/20 is great. go with Bosch for more complex ones - they have a better selection of accessories.
Strengths: Relatively inexpensive Legos for adults
Needs to improve: Quality and product availability are not as good as Bosch
I use 80 20 with nearly every early design for fixtures and custom equipment. Always have extra extrusions and fasteners lying around to whip up a quick prototype. Even has uses on the production floor.
Strengths: Endless possibilities
Needs to improve: Can be more expensive
80/20 has been a great working experience and will continue to use them again in the future.
Strengths: We have used 80/20 materials and found them to be easy to assemble. They have great products for creating custom lab items.

the 80/20 extruded profile is very useful when building fixtures or workstation. They can be configured into many different ways and this configuration flexibility makes 80/20 very popular with manufacturing engineers
Strengths: Extruded aluminum
