Apical is a smaller company and if you will need high volumes, might not be the right company for you. They were cheaper than most of the competition. You will need inhouse expertise to augment Apical's.

Strengths: Apical is a small company in the heart of Silicon Valley. They have been around for a while. They have experience with RF generators and will leverage their past designs for your product. Since they were local for us, we were able to pick up products same day and drop off devices for trouble shooting. They are willing to work with you to make prototypes for clinical trials for for FDA clearance.

Needs to improve: They do not have an in house software programmer. Best to have your own and use Apical for the hardware. They do have a programmer that they use for consulting but can be unavailable for your timeline goals. Apical's quality system could use a little updating but was sufficient.

Great for small companies or start-ups. They are inexpensive when compared to other controller houses. Can turn- around prototypes quickly.

Strengths: Inexpensive, flexible, good cutomer service, prototypes, and quick turn-around.

Needs to improve: In house software expertise, large volume capacity, failure analysis.

Strengths: Apical Team has a team with excellent problem solving. I have interfaced with Apical regarding a technical issue. They were able to put together a detailed root-cause analysis and identified the main cause of the issue.
