we have an account with VWR for our in house petri dishes supply. they are a popular manufacture in our area for scientific equipment. their dishes are optically clear for easy and correct reading, they have venting ribs for free air circulation and are ideal for all the different types of cultures we grow. one factor that most would not appreciate regarding the importance of petri dishes is the bottoms need to flat for best results of uniform agar thickness and VWRs dishes have had consistently flat bottoms. their dishes are made from virgin polystyrene with distortion free visibility. their venting ribs prevents condensation buildup . all their dishes are sterilized by GAMMA, E-beam, and EO gas. high end products for pharmaceutical use

VWR is one of the big main suppliers we use for lab equipment in quality. They have an enormous selection of equipment. Their pricing is pretty standard run of the mill but if theres something in particular you are looking for they most likely have it. Never have had a problem with their customer service. From time of order to actual delivery is fairly quick. If you ever have any issues with your orders though it can sometimes be a process and take awhile to get your credit back. Overall this company is very professional and they have pretty much everything you need for product and process development perspective.

When it was time to upgrade our labs/classrooms a little we looked far and wide. We wanted products that were used in the real world, something our professors and students can actually use, we found that in VWR. They have products in use in a variety of places, various occupations. This helped our decision to go with them, since we can say our staff/students have been trained with the best equipment and equipment that is highly used in all labs. Ordering was upfront and easy, pricing was a bit more than we had hoped, but that's what tuition costs are for! =) We're waiting to see on durability as reliability, accuracy and everything else has checked out.

Strengths: This is where we usually buy our lab supplies. They have a wide selection and products are in great quality. This is a one stop shop for all lab equipments as well. I like how the products in their website are sorted out by the type of work that you do. Its so easy to look for what you need even if you do not know what an item is called because of the pictures. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who is in need of lab stuff.

Needs to improve: The price might sometimes be in the high side.

we keep a huge stock of their stop watches in our lab for testing and calibrating our dialysis machines. we use them to time how long our pressure tanks take to build to a curtain mbar and also how long they take to deflate etc. etc. we also use them for many different other tests and calibrations and they keep our machines top quality in the world. A++

Needs to improve: wish the string was tougher it always seems to come loose or untie itself and I always have to fix it or re tie it.

As a consultant, I go to VWR as one of my main suppliers for lab equipment. They have just about anything you may need. Extremely large inventory from beakers to trays to small autoclaves. Their prices could be better but they do save you time in that you don't have to go shopping around town. I haven't really dealt with any sales people, I just place my order online, pay with a credit card and wait for my order confirmation. Very easy to deal with.

Our firm needed a large volume of industrial supplies and wanted to go with a vendor that would be able to compete on pricing and VWR Scientific is able to do so. They have a large selection and can handle a big volume so we decided to go with them and they have not disappointed. VWR is able to turnaround orders quickly and their sales staff is always helpful and able to address any questions quickly. This makes the ordering process simple and efficient, and the products have all been satisfactory. Great vendor, great team!

Our number one source for scientific equipment and supplies for a number of years. I've personally not really had the need to shop anywhere else for these types of products in the last 20 plus years I've been in the industry. Their customer service and knowledge of the products is second to none.

Strengths: Excellent customer service and availability of products. This is our number one source for scientific related products and lab equipment. Their prices can be higher than some at times but overall they're an excellent source.

Needs to improve: can't think of any. we've never really had a problem using them in the past

We have about 13 of their stopwatches in circulation around the PD floor. The offer a standard HH:MM:SS timer, a basic clock, lap times and another setting that I'm not quite sure what it does. They're your standard stop watches, but they've lasted for years with no problems and the battery life is exceptional. They tried to sell us some other products when we put in our order, however, and it felt like they were a bit pushy.

vwr scientific is our number one vendor for general lab supplies and equipment. its easy to use their website to compare different types of equipment. customer service has also been helpful in placing orders and exchanging defective product. the only downside of vwr is the pricing for their equipment has somewhat of a markup for the “brand name” items (e.g., vwr beakers vs. pyrex beakers).

When thinking of purchasing lab equipment and/or supplies, I typically think of two companies: VWR and Fisher. Between these two companies your lab is covered. VWR offers a huge selection as well as quick turnaround. You can't go wrong by choosing VWR.

Strengths: VWR is a general supplier of lab equipment and lab supplies. There catalog is as big as Fisher's if not bigger. Aside from common lab supplies they also sell name brand and house brand lab processing equipment.

Needs to improve: VWR can be a little on the expensive side.

My experience with VWR has been pretty good. I've been working with them ever since we expanded our research facilities. We were in need of a variety of equipment and products for the labs and VWR had come highly recommended as a one stop shop for our needs. Ordering from them was pretty straight forward and the team over there has been very knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend other take a look at them for your lab tool and chemical needs.

Not only do they provide us with lab equipment but they also provide us with various other supplies such as our stopwatches. We use these stop watches for calibration and testing verifications of our pump assemblies to insure pressure leaks if any are within are specs, pressure must not drop more then 55 mar per min, so these stopwatches are essential to our process.

Customer Service is great and have made them part of our family away from home.

Strengths: VWR supplies us with cleanroom and lab materials for our manufacturing departments. They are always reliable & dependable, making sure that we have enough stock. They come weekly to stock and see what is needed for the coming weeks. I highly recommend VWR for their outstanding service.

If you need lab supplies chances are VWR will have it. Large inventory with most items in stock. Prices are variable and you may find lower if you have time to look around. If time is of the essence then VWR is your place.

VWR has everything one needs to equip your lab, if you can find it. It's much easier to find items in their catalog than on their webpage. Pricing can be high. If you are local to the Silicon Valley LabPro carries a smaller selection of the same items.

VWR stocks a large variety of scientific materials and equipment. In my experience, the ordering process can be cumbersome with sales reps more interested in selling you what they want vs. what you need. I usually go elsewhere first.
