I have taken apart several Baldor motors at work; they are a reliable motor that works well with a lot of applications, including a wide array with VFD's. Their customer support has been very helpful as well.
Strengths: Reliable motors for many different applications.
Needs to improve: Like all motor companies, it's obvious where corners are cut with the insulation and motor windings.

Strengths: Baldor motors are still very reliable depending on the environment and use.
Needs to improve: Like all motor companies, it's obvious where shortcuts have been taken with insulation and motor windings.
I have worked on several Baldor motors and installed some drives. They work very well within normal operating conditions with moderate loads
Strengths: Decent quality drives
Needs to improve: Its obvious when troubleshooting where shortcuts are made
