Dassault systems provides 3d modeling software that is similar to Solidworks. We have been using their software packages for years and have nothing but great things to say. I prefer to use dassault systems when modeling for structure analysis. They offer multiple software packages depending on what you need. Customer service representatives are extremely helpful in working with you to figure out exactly what you need so that you don't spend unnecessary funds on excessive software packages. Overall the addition of dassault systems software is a welcomeed supplementation to solidworks. I definitely recommend for any company to use them.

I have used Solidworks and ABAQUS and both are exceptional pieces of software. ABAQUS is a bit more challenging software to use properly, but incredible in its ability to simulate dynamics.
Both are leading edge and industry standard software throughout various industries

Strengths: A large array of software packages that are well integrated with each other to maximize results from each package such as 3D modeling then to a FEA (ie. solidworks, ABAQUS , etc)

Needs to improve: Ability to read files if you are running an older version from a newer version and inability to save a format in a older version for others to properly use.

I've used their software for countless years now, as well as instructed others on how to use it. The software is becoming easier and easier to use, and I like how many of the new features that are added each year are aimed to make the experience faster, which is great for power users.

The web based support system and forums provide ample information, and often I go through that instead of contacting my sales representative for support.

Needs to improve: Frequent software updates, initial release of software is usually buggy and unreliable.

dassault produces well-known engineering software like solidworks and abaqus. they offer a wide range of software packages and are well intertwined with each other. the most useful for me has been the connection between abaqus and solidworks for device iterations to optimize device integrity and durability.

Needs to improve: normal bugs expected of any software

they make solidworks as well as a number of other very high end pieces of engineering software. excellent software. i have taken training offered by them and they have been well coordinated and with experts in the software training.

Needs to improve: Like any software, SolidWorks likes to freeze up from time to time. No major issues here.

Dassault's software packages such as Solidworks are powerful and intuitive making for an fast learning curve.
