We have worked with Foster on many development projects. They worked very closely with us to develop a custom compound to meet requirements of tensile strength, torque, radiopacity and biocompatibility. Working with Foster ensures a successful project. I highly recommend them.

Strengths: Foster provides medical grade polymers and custom compounds. With their team of polymer experts, they can produce custom polymer compounds to meet requirements for radiopacity, color, mechanical properties and biocompatibility.

Needs to improve: Slow turnaround and high prices.

They are very good at compounding custom formulations of raw pellets for injection molding or extruding. They can color and provide extra additives for making plastics more radiopaque. Their minimum quantities for ordering are large, so don't use them if you're looking to get a small order in to try a plastic out for prototyping.

The Foster Corporation does an excellent job for supplying plastic raw materials. We vetted them through an extended process as a supplier and they were deemed acceptable as a medical grade supplier. Their quality has been very good over the years and I would recommend them for similar applications.

Foster is my go to place if I need compounded medical grade polymers. Need radiopacity, they can add it to your resin. Need to blend two resins, they can do it.
