Heidenhain is the go to manufacturer for high precision measurements. They do cost a lot, but you really do get what you pay for here. One of the first purchases made in any med device R&D group.
Strengths: Excellent precision and quality
Needs to improve: Costly
Heidenhain is the place to for super accurate measurement tools. Their measurement tools are a must for Stent development. They are superior to optical methods for measuring stent thickness.

Very accurate measurements for medical device components. Easy to use and reliable. We've used them to measure the thickness of metal implants

Awesome high accuracy contact measurement of stent strut thicknesses. More more accurate than optical systems for measuring thickness.
