Micro Waterjet, LLC (MWJ) was formed through a partnership with Waterjet AG and Max Daetwyler Corporation to bring micro manufacturing services for advanced abrasive waterjet technologies to North America. We serve a broad range of markets to include aerospace, automotive, electrical, job and machine shops, art and architecture, medical, motorsports, watch components, and many other advanced manufacturing, specialty applications.
Waterjet AG was founded to develop the Abrasive WaterJet Micro Machining® (AWJMM®) technology for the microwaterjet® cutting machine, the first of its kind in the world. As a seasoned contract manufacturer, Walter Maurer, Director of Waterjet AG in Aarwangen, Switzerland, decided to co-develop a high-precision waterjet cutting technology to meet and exceed his customer’s expectations. His source of inspiration was a collection of unfulfilled customer inquiries he had collected over several years. Working with a regional technical institute in Switzerland, all of the important components such as pressurization, valve, ductwork, cutting head and abrasive system were analyzed during a two-year research project. Today, the result is an abrasive water jet that is bridging the gap between existing cutting technologies including EDM and Laser.

our design team reached out to micro waterjet from a recommendation from our vendor for rapid prototype production. we did some research and did review that the waterjet technology is suppose to product faster turnaround time for projects as well as yielding the same quality results if not better. we had micro waterjet work on one of our newest prototype productions using their technology and the turnaround time was much faster than the other vendors we have worked with. according to their engineer, it allows for higher cutting speeds, higher cutting accuracy, it uses lower cutting force, and there is little to no change in material structure. all of these were positives for us and we were very satisfied with the results and how fast we were able to get them. keep in mind their fees are fairly high...not the most competitive in the industry
Strengths: innovative technology, faster prototype production, customer service, fast turnaround time without lack of quality
Needs to improve: pricing is expensive

Our Field department used Micro Waterjet cutting capabilities as a source for a gasket that needed to be replaced during installation of our conveyor system. They were recommended to us by our colleges during installation due to their facilities were close to the new installation and the service guys recommendation. They were able to work off of a sketch and produce the gasket per the dimensions. I was impressed with the turn around, extremely quick and this allowed us to proceed with the installation on time. A great company for quick turn around and supplying us a quality gasket.
Strengths: - Quality Products - Quick Turn - Price Competitive - Customer Service - Accurate Quotes
Needs to improve: They are not able to supply complete inspection of the product, due to not having the correct inspection devices - best to have your own facilities in house or use an our side supplier for inspection services.

Great experience and exceptional parts.
Strengths: Great quality of work and communication. Great technical ability and competence. Great customer service and engineering/support staff.
Needs to improve: MWJ does not have a CMM machine or optical scanner and, therefore, cannot provide as detailed inspection data as other suppliers. MWJ is not ISO 13485-certified.
Micro Waterjet got a vision system to help with inspection. The parts were always great, but we had to rely on an optical comparator for inspection. Now I can get quantitative data.
