in my pharmacy we have a small omnicell machine that is similar to a carousel that rotates. some great functions of this is that it helps us to manage inventory, including control substance inventory, it dispenses medications, allows us to manage our supplies on hand, all of which has helped us to reach regulatory requirements better. their customer service line is extremely helpful and can walk you through trouble shooting techniques for minor problems. if it is not resolved over the phone, they will send a technician to take a look at the issue and this is sometimes done the same day depending on when you get in contact with them. when we need replacement parts, everything can be done online via our account or with their customer service phone line as well and it is charged to our account automatically.

Great for patient safety for medication dispension. would like the electronic part of the IV fluid compartments to be a little sturdier.

Strengths: we use omnicell for dispensing medications in our hospital. It is easy to use and keeps track of time and all users making it easy to do quality checks and hightens patient safety in receiving medications.

Needs to improve: The omnicell medication cabinets seems a little flimsy, although the narcotic medication containers are strong the rest seems to break easily.

our pharmacy automation system is with omnicell. this is a great automation system with many useful features. the model we have provides extra security features, touch-and-go biometric ID, and also allows for OCRA (Omnicenter remote access). they has helped manage our workflow much better and has improved our yearly inventory management. it works with our virtual service and has cloud connect capabilities
