I manage the account for waste, recycling and composting pick up for our various field offices. When Recology was awarded the bid for our local area, the prices were 25% higher and had more surcharges immediately. When the pick up began, the drivers did not pick up our bins, forgot to pick them up and damaged the bins and roadways. They are not courteous, block the roadway and don't seem to care about doing a good job. Honestly, it's just a garbage company. How bad can the screw up such a seemingly simple task? I compare this to Greenwaste, which does such a tremendously better job for a much lower price and higher quality of work. Unfortunately, Greenwaste is only available at one field office.

Strengths: Single source recycling, waste and composting service. Local service.

Needs to improve: Terrible customer service. Terrible onsite service. Drivers are rude, incompetent and inconsistent. More expensive then previous service. Lower quality. Just terrible.

Recology is the trash/recycling contractor for most of the SF peninsula, and unfortunately if you live or work on the sf peninsula is most likely your waste service provider. They have terrible customer service, are slow with picking up trash and occasionally on some days do not even pick up trash and just simply leave it making you leave it to the next week. When you the call and ask for a pickup, Recology will then have terrible customer service and will say they are sending a truck but never actually do. They also have high prices for such terrible service. I do not recommend them at all.

Strengths: None

Needs to improve: Slow Pickup Time, Terrible Customer Service, Do not even pickup sometimes, Rude Pickup Men, Have damaged bins before, and much more

Recology is unfortunately a waste manager that we have to go through. They are extremely slow at picking up waste or they just wont overall. While for the most part, they will pick up your trash without problem, but occasionally they will just not pick it up or do it very slowly. They also have bad customer serivce when are trash has not been picked up and we have had to call them to get it picked up. They additionally have damaged our bins which has caused us to get new bins. I highly do not recommend them, but unfortunately if you live on the SF peninsula you pretty much have to.

Needs to improve: -Slow Pick Up -No Pick Up -Bad Customer Service -Will damage bins
