RMS is the go to contract manufacturer for medical device machined components. They service many of the major medical device companies and have expertise in making implants, bone screws, and medical instruments. They're a well run company with a good quality system, designated manufacturing engineers, and program managers. If you're looking for the cheapest vendor, look somewhere else. But if quality, expertise, and reliability is important to you, then definitely consider RMS.
Strengths: High volume tight tolerance machining, medical implants, medical instruments, quality control
Needs to improve: Prototyping, low volume development

RMS came through for us in a time when we were looking for a company that would take on a piece of tooling that had detailed precision and not very many others were willing to quote the job. We were very grateful for their help when we needed them the most. I would recommend them to anybody looking for a group of folks who are willing to take on a detailed task.
Strengths: Up to the challenge and helpful
Needs to improve: Pricey and not fast

It was good. I mean their customer service is great. One of the things I was most glad about was their ability to machine a small and complex part that not many shops wanted a piece of.
Strengths: RMS's takes on jobs not a bunch of shops are willing to do.
Needs to improve: Amount of equipment might be a weakness. I think if their turnaround time was a little quicker, my experience would be that much better.
After several vendors no quoted our tiny parts, rms took on the challenge. We worked together and have had great success in achieving quality parts. Blanket orders get routinely filled on time and meet incoming inspection criteria.
Strengths: Small precise machining
Needs to improve: Long lead times
