Standard program for modeling, but all the different versions make it a nuisance to use when vendors are running a different versions than you.
Strengths: One of the greatest tools out there for designing and visualizing devices of medium complexity.
Needs to improve: Sometimes AutoCAD is easier and faster when the drawing doesn't need to be to scale
Probably the industry standard and most R&D/manufacturing engineers should learn how to use it.
Strengths: CAD software that has lots of features. Does everything you need for design, modeling and prototyping work.
Needs to improve: Licenses can be pricey and there is a pretty steep learning curve. It does seem to crash at times too.

They are willing to answer questions regarding upgrades and bugs.
Strengths: They provide good updates and help menu's. Their software is easy to use and can be used for many industries.
Needs to improve: Sometimes their software requires a lot more updates, where my recent update is not too compatible with my computer.
Highly recommend.
Strengths: It is the market leader in 3D CAD and simulation. It is well renowned and well accepted in the marketplace. Offers wide range of sub-contracted training courses as well.
Needs to improve: Software has too many features, and has a very high potential. Needs long time to understand.
this is the standard for 3D modeling/drafting software. very easy to use and everyone just about uses it.
Strengths: easy to use
Needs to improve: no backwards compatibility, requires annual upgrades if you need to share files with vendors back and forth that may have newer versions, etc.
I go back and forth between using Solidworks and Autocad. For 3D modeing, Solidworks is the best choice around. Great for designing and modeling.
Strengths: Ease of use. Great for 3D modeling. You can design whatever you need.
Needs to improve: Cannot draw PCBA layouts. License is expensive.
This is the industry standard for 3d modeling. Every engineer should know this as their best friend. I prefer this to ProE, but I was taught both in school.
Strengths: Customer service, reliability, industry standard
Needs to improve: new release every year, very expensive
Solidworks makes it happen for all the design and modelling u need. I go for solidworks all the time.
Strengths: Awesome software! Much easier to use than any other programs when it comes to 3D modelling. Never ending possibilities.
Needs to improve: $$$$$ per seat.

All engineers and many technicians utilize SolidWorks for product/tooling design. There is no way we could operate without this programming. The program allows for almost anybody to learn how to use it rather quickly.
Strengths: Ease of use, quality
Needs to improve: none
Lab and R&D purchase the 3d modeling SW for new product devleopment or current product improvements. This tool makes it easier and is being used for so many applications. Especially in medical!
Strengths: Good reliable technical SW
Needs to improve: Nothing
very easy 3D modeling software to use. Been great for engineering applications. I have used it at many places and seems to be the industry standard software to use.
Strengths: Easy to use, 3D modeling
Needs to improve: NA
Good Service with contract, have used Solidworks with every company I've been with,
Strengths: Intuitive and fairly easy to learn, powerful modeling and analysis tools
Needs to improve: Very expensive to start out, files are not backwards compatable
Amongst the other choices, SW should be up there.
Strengths: Great software package for 3D Modeling, Simulation, and creating a good base model for assemblies.
Needs to improve: Minor crashes. Save often, I say...
great product; useful to me once I learned how to use the program
Strengths: depth of well-developed software for stated purpose
Needs to improve: you need to be educated to use the system
Industry standard solid modeling and drafting software. It works well, and it easy enough to learn.
Strengths: Easy-Use Solid Modeling Software
Needs to improve: Lack of reverse compatibility across versions
Self-learned SolidWorks. awesome product. able to do anything needed to design parts and molds.
Strengths: Easy to use and learn; can do everything better then AutoCad
Needs to improve: None
Our office uses Soildworks for rendering orthodontia. Solidworks offers good customer support and are very responsive.
Strengths: robust designing software
Needs to improve: Expensive
I have use Solidworks software, friendly user, compare to others similar 3D modeling software.
