They worked with us to design a custom shipping container designed to protect sensitive medical components from temperature extremes. They built prototypes for free and allowed us to try different foam materials to achieve the R-factor needed with the lightest packaging. They then tested the temperature holding profiles of the designs in their incubators. Due to the lead of building the molds, we found it most efficient to design different iterations up front and subject them all to testing to find the best one rather than sequentially build and test each one.
Strengths: Breadth of experience and capabilities to customize existing designs or rapidly prototype new designs. Testing capabilities for elevated temperature extremes.
Needs to improve: Lead times to build and test new foam molds are such that it's better to think of iterations up front and build them all at once rather than wait to build them in sequence.
