Despite the name, Ulbrich can provide both round and flat wire. I have ordered wire down to .001" round and .005"x.003" ribbon in both stainless and nitinol for medical device usage. The wire is often in stock and ready for shipment. I had them respool and deliver the wire on braider bobbins, and that took a week or two.

We have purcahsed from this company many times. the quality of the fine wire is top notch. The forming services is convenient for urgent needs on special formed wire for guidewire and release wire development for future products.
Strengths: A great source for flat wire and shaped wires
Needs to improve: The distance makes it difficult for being a primary supplier of fine wire materials
Ulbrich is my second source for stainless and nitinol wire, and they are working their way up to be first. They may not be able to keep up with FWM's new products, but their standard wire inventory is good, and of equivalent quality.

Ulbrich has provided good parts for us. Deliveries for in-stock material are on time and non-stock items have short lead-times. Customer service is easy to work with and provides good follow-up. Pricing is decent. Quality is always within specification.

We looked into Ulbrich when we were trying to get a secondary supplier, however, they didn't impress enough with the tensile strengths and heat forming properties of their nitinol, so we moved on. Good customer service though
