P3 Machine, LLC - Will Be Going Back for Short Run Machining Needs

Speed 4 / Price 5 / Quality 5

P3 Machine was a pleasure to work with. I had gone to several machine shops who all no quoted to said they could help us out in a couple months -- and then never got back to us! Ted and Lisa were very understanding that we were a startup still in the prototyping stages of our design and worked with us to modify the parts to make them easier to manufacture, reducing how much they would cost. Some of note that I figured during my journey to find a good manufacturer was the correlation between the cleanliness of their shop/machinists and the amount of pride they took in getting the parts right. This was definitely a positive experience and I will be going back to them for additional work as we develop our next system.

Strengths: I would say the strengths of the company are guidance during the manufacturing process to simplify the part reducing costs. Also, if you want the part done correctly and held to tight tolerances, I'd propose that as another strength of Ted. Being a smaller shop, they have the flexibility to meet tight deadlines when required.

Needs to improve: Being a small shop helps them give great service, but it means that the abilities are somewhat limited. They do not have a 5-axis machine, so if you are looking for something crazy complicated then they would not be the correct vendor. The best parts for them would be ones done on either a 3-Axis CNC mill or lathe.
