ET solely specializes in medical device testing so we contracted out to them to test our prototype medical devices. they operate 24 hours a day so you will receive your results and data much faster than other testing site. we use their complete testing service package which includes a thorough technical report. our reports have always been accurate, reliable and received in a timely fashion. all of their results meet FDA and CE regulatory requirements. we highly recommend working with this company for all of your medical testing devices

Strengths: We use Empirical Testing Corp for some of our mechanical testing. They are a A2LA ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited mechanical testing laboratory solely specializing in medical device testing. The testing they perform mainly is for our Sustaining and R&D department. We never had any problems were their Certificate of Compliance. Certificates are easy to read and measure data are accurate. Quotes are accurate and price is competitive. Their customer service representatives are every helpful and knowledgeable of their services They are a great vendor to work with. Lead times and delivery is very good.

If you need a turnkey testing shop for medical devices, this is the place to go. They have great updates and final reports. Your products will be testing right the first time.

Strengths: In house medical device testing is very strong at empirical testing. They have many wear testers which you can't find at other test labs. They can perform tests for most medical implants including spinal, hips, knees and shoulders.

Needs to improve: A bit pricy but you are paying for the high quality, cutting edge testing machines and in house expertise. Limit machines and high demand makes getting time on a machine sometimes difficult.

My start up has outsourced our device testing to Empirical numerous times since they are a one stop shop for testing solutions. Their expert consulting team is extremely knowledgeable, thorough and easy to work with, as they really possess an expertise for testing protocols. Customer service is very easy to reach and proactive in maintaining communication throughout the entire process. Turnaround times were decent given the complexity and accuracy of the results. Will definitely keep them in mind for future testing gigs.

Empirical has lots of different types of machines and rows and rows of test frames. They can usually fit you in well within your timeframe.

Strengths: Dawn is a powerhouse. She and her staff know the various mechanical testing standards inside and out (sitting on the ASTM committees that write the standards certainly helps). Empirical is strongly focused on quality and has the 17025 system in place.

Needs to improve: This knowledge comes at a price--usually not an issue in the world of medical devices, but still steep for start-ups.

Empirical Testing Corp should be the standard and what we use for quality control. They make sure what we're producing is accurate reading what we want it to do. Although a little costly to do our testing outside, we are not big enough to do it in house and with the quality and accuracy of ETC. These guys are amazing, they are easy to work with, know testing protocols and fast. Good and fast.
