Blockwise Engineering

Blockwise engineering offers an excellent alternative to standalone radial force testers for those who have an existing mechanical tester (mts, Instron) and have a device that has low total force. It may seem like a lot to spend $10k on an "accessory" but when you factor in the quality you'll get from the results and the time saved by not having to design a system in house from scratch, it easily pays for itself. A great investment for any company that requires radial force testing.

Needs to improve: Initial cost can be illicit "sticker shock" for how much equipment you get, but it's worth it.

I've used the Blockwise radial force testing fixture many times for devices i've worked with. Its one of the best for extremely sensitive devices that noise can contribute negatively or dampen your real results you are trying to test. The quality of construction and design in this piece of equipment is clearly seen. It also easily mounts to an existing MTS or Instron, so you can cut down the costs of the equipment by not needing a dedicated system as compared to other options in the market.
The engineering staff has also been helpful in the past.

Blockwise makes a nice Radial Force Tester. It has less mass to the mechanism than competitors and therefore has better Signal/Noise Ratio, making better at measuring lighter radial forces. It can also be configured to be used with your existing Tensile Machine, which is a more cost effective option if you already have MTS or Instron.

We use this firm to validate and test our stents for neuro use. These guys are quality oriented and are very reliable. We have the faith that if the products come back as passed, we will not have any issues with them at all...

We have had Blockwise do some preliminary testing of our implant on their radial force test fixture. It is the most sensitive method of radial force testing that I have found. That sensitivity comes at a relatively steep price, however.

They are a great choice to other testers. It's kinda pricey but the quality you get from it is well worth it. They are a great company for radial force testers and worth the investment.
