Hertz Rent A Car

I've rented from Hertz a few times because their prices seemed reasonable. Two years ago my husband and I rented from Hertz in Costa Rica. We waited over 2 hours to get our vehicle, which they had to upgrade because they were out of the size car we wanted. They charged us for the upgrade and we didn't even get the GPS that we had reserved. Not the best experience when you're traveling in a foreign country.

Strengths: Good online car selection.

Needs to improve: Inconsistant service.

A client of ours went to pick up a vehicle, for use during his visit to our offices. The vehicle was not ready when they said it would be. Also the staff was very rude.

Strengths: They have quality vehicles and are reasonably priced for our business needs.

Needs to improve: This particular location is awful. I would not recommend them to anyone. Not only did they not have the vehicle ready as requested for the client. The manager and associate refused to fix the problem.

Their customer service could not care less that they gave you a car you didn't ask for and that it doesn't function properly.

Strengths: So far, nothing.

Needs to improve: Never have the car you chose and every time there has been something wrong with the vehicle they provided us.

Waited a little too long in line.
They have pricing scheme which, if you don't read carefully enough, will rob you of your paycheck. For example, pre-paying for your entire tank otherwise being charged $9/gallon for not filling the tank up but not getting any money back if you don't use the entire tank. They also require you to pay for your bridge toll by calling ahead or paying via internet before crossing the bridge rather than giving you a Fasttrack.

Strengths: Convenient location.
Good arrangements for corporate accounts.

Needs to improve: While location is convenient, it is in a not-so-clean area. The hours of operation is limited if you need to pickup/dropoff cars late or early. Did not have the Gold Card checkin service to facilitate the lines moving faster, though the service was fast once at at the counter.

I've received unclean cars that once contained drugs in the glove compartment when I picked up my corporate car.

Strengths: I haven't noticed any.

Needs to improve: Available selection of vehicles is always limited on-site, regardless of location. Attendants are not customer friendly and have no time-sensitivity. The prices are about even with competition.

Great service from the team every time i request a car. Always clean and works well

Strengths: Clean cars. Cheap Prices. They are now always offering something where you can order the car online (affter hours) and pick up the key from their location by just adding a code to get the key to car when the stores are closed. Pretty cool!

Needs to improve: Not enough locations around my area. I highly suggest they open up early as travelers sometimes need to hit the road early and dn't want to pay for an extra day.

I traveled a great deal for my last company and would use hertz at the majority of those locations. Their gold member program sends you an email as to what stall your car is in before your flight gets in so all you have to do is go to that stall get in, drive I the exit gate and show your drivers liscense

Strengths: Quick service, flexible refueling options

Needs to improve: Expensive compared to competitors, cars can vary widely in add ons and age

hertz seems to be usually a little more expensive, but i do prefer hertz only so i can avoid renting a crappy chevy or GM car. sorry, can't stand the layout or ergonomics of their cars. always some part of the car impinging my knee, leg, rib or something..... luckily hertz carries many other car brands in their fleet (Ford, nissans, toyotas, etc), so i usually end up with a non-GM, which makes my body happy.

We often use Hertz for our corporate excursions and while the customer reps are great in person, we oftentimes are disappointed by the limited availability when compared to other car rental companies. Pricing is average and will continue to use so long as it's convenient. Happy to support but if a better deal comes around, we'll be happy to switch providers.

I typically book reservations on behalf of my boss for business trips. Hertz is my go-to Vendor because they have a very easy to use website and great customer service. I recommend calling to get their best prices when making reservations.

Strengths: Very easy to use website. Flexible reservations (i.e. easy cancellations, able to pick-up & drop-off at different locations, etc.)

Needs to improve: A little pricer than its competitors.

I have used several rental car agencies and while hertz can be a little pricey compared to other rental car companies especially if you don't have a reservation. They always seem to have a car available and a very professional staff that is always willing to help. The location at the greenville Spartanburg airport has always been very accommodating.

Representatives are very respectful, friendly, and infirmational. They make you feel as if you are the only client of the day! Got me into a vehicke quicky with very little hassle. Highly recomended!

Strengths: I just recently rented an automobile from hertz and was very impressed with they're customer service! They're representatives were very friendly, respectful, and informational.

Needs to improve: The wait can be a little restless.

i find hertz to one of my preferred rental agencies. generally are more expensive when no promos or discounts are in place in my experience, but the cars are usually clean and a good selection of different cars. excellent customer service also

my business tries to avoid Hertz after two occasions where cars we reserved were not available. we waited hours for a vehicle and took one immediately upon its return without having a chance for it to be cleaned properly

I have used hertz on several of my travels. The cars are usually clean and the service is good. There have been times, however, when they didn't have the car class which I reserved. Not sure what a reservation is good for if they can't fill it.

I have found their service to be very good. I prefer Hertz to their competitors like AVIS, etc.

Strengths: Easy to use and available everywhere that I travel to. They also have a great loyalty program.

Needs to improve: Sometimes I can't always get the size vehicle that I like, but they usually have an adequate substitute.

Ive only rented a few cars from hertz in my travels but I have always been satisfied, never had a bad clunker or dirty car or anything like that! Usually fairly cheap but good quality. The rental offices can be a little frustrating in large airporta though

These guys are good not great. I use them with the rewards program, the cars are usually clean and the prices are decent. You sometimes get a different car than the one you wanted.

The rental and checkout process is fast and efficient. Same with returning. The quality of car is better than comparable car renters. However he price is a little higher than average.

Strengths: Dependable and nicer cars than other rental agencies. Fast checkout process when renting.
