They supplier our caliper gauges that we use for our machine shop when building prototypes or in the assembly inspection line. Gauges are extremely high quality and priced fairly well. We pay an extra premium to have the gauges already calibrated by them. Theres also the option to have uncalibrated gauges for significantly cheaper. Gauges are easy to use and we haven't had too many issues with them. They have a wide selection of gauges for multiple uses. We continue to use starrett for the price and ease of sending our parts back to them for re-calibration. They do a quick job and make sure everything is packaged safely so that parts don't get damaged during shipping.

Calibrated tools from Starrett cost twice as much as their uncalibrated counter parts however it is worth it to pay the price for the tool to already be calibrated as it saves you from so many headaches down the road. They make excellent quality rulers and calipers that are easy to read and use. Starrett will send a tech to calibrate the tools in house. I would say they are an industry leader in measuring devices and their price reflects that however you get what you pay for. Definitely a value in our lab and production line up.

Business end user. Have never had to return any of their products. I guess this one of the great ways to measure the quality of a product. If you don't have to return it ever, it's very well made. That way, I keep making money with their tools and don't have any down time as a result

Needs to improve: More costly then imported brands. If you need an exact measurement, LS Starrett is the way to go.

When it came time to replacing our tried and true measuring tools we were hesitant to go with just anyone as we had grown accustomed to a high level of precision and ease of measurement. After some searching we came upon L S Starrett Co. The quality of their products was very high and the cost was reasonable. They were also very high in their ease of use which made it a mush more pleasant experience for the transition for our employees. Overall I was very impressed with the sourcing from beginning to end. I would highly consider using them again should the need arise.

We originally bought 6” and 12” metal Starrett rulers off of McMaster-Carr and obviously chose the cheaper (non-calibrated) version. After receiving a calibration quote, which was double of what we paid for the rulers, it was immediately clear that it was more economical to buy the ruler already calibrated from Starrett. Their adhesive-backed rulers are also handy for quick measurements when you need both hands to manipulate a component--a must have for any lab bench!

Needs to improve: Some would say price, but I have not find any weakness with Starrett. You get what you pay for.

I have used Starrett Calipers, Micrometers, Height & Depth Gauges , etc,, throughout my whole career. Being an Engineer I find that the measuring equipment from Starrett is extremely Reliable and Dependable. My company has ordered man starrett measurements in the passed and they are very good quality, efficient, reliable, and extremely accurate. I havent had any problems with their products yet and ive also heard nothing but good things about their products around the department.

Of all the great ways to measure, the one that we buy and gets used the most are the adhesive backed workbench rules. You need at least on on every table, and they have to be replaced once the paint starts flaking.

Serial Numbers on their scale/ rulers

Strengths: We were looking for calibrated rulers and found Starrett. In addition to it being calibrated it also had a serial number. In turn it work out great for us. With the serial number we can track the usage through our process.

We have used Starrett micrometers in our lab in the past. We actually prefer Mitutoyo but Starrett does offer decent tools. very reliable and easy to use. Customer service is not bad at all.

Have purchased many Starrett measurement tools over the years. They are very high quality and built to last. Everything is very good, but they can be costly compared to brands such as Mitutoyo.

We have the Roundness Measurement Systems RT800 in our lab. We cut tubing for catheters and coiling delivery systems. The tool is very reliable.

We use Starrett MIcs and Scales in our machine shop. Nothing beats Starrett non digital measuring tools. These are what machinists are supposed to use. They are very accurate and easy to use.

Very high quality instruments. I especially like using the mechanical digital micrometers and analog snap gages. Starrett also makes very nice adhesive rules for workbenches and pin vises.
