We use Leica microscopes in our lab for quality control inspection along with other scopes in our facility like Nikon. I would say they are very comparable to Nikon in quality and ease of use. You really can not go wrong with either of the brands. Both are great quality and both have great customer service when it comes to servicing the scopes. Pricing is a little bit more expensive then Nikon but I'd say its pretty much the same at this price point. I'd say the software that Leica includes with their microscopes is a little less intuitive then the Nikons we use. Other than that I'd say the two are very comparable.
Strengths: microscopes
Needs to improve: pricing
Excellent product and service.
Strengths: Leica industries supplies our company with signal generating equipment we use for underground pipe and cable location. Their products are super rugged and Leica has a great reputation as a high performance electrical supplier. Their products seem to be just a bit better thought out then the competition, with good ergonomics, rugged cases and compact sizes. We have signal generators which have been in use for years. They also have excellent customer support and continue to service tools which may no longer be part of the current line.
Needs to improve: None. Great company with wide market penetration.

Strengths:
good supplier of chemical products.
Needs to improve: none
We bought a hand full of Leica microscopes to build products and to inspect parts. They maintain good quality. We bought radical eye pieces to go with the scope. Customer service help us choose the right product. The shipment came on time. The price is on the high side but it is worth it to spend on because of the quality.
Strengths: Quality microscopes and measurement scopes. Good customer service.
Needs to improve: Expensive but worth it.
Some of the Best Microscopes around. When you compare Leica Microscopes to others, side by side, you find them to have higher clarity, brighter view and better depth of field. The only downside is cost, typically 25% more or higher. For lab/prototype work it can be justified, but in production environment where you may need many scopes, it can be more difficult to justify the added cost when compared to scopes like Meiji.
Strengths: Microscopes and Optics
Needs to improve: None
Leica’s Biosystems division offers a select range of laboratory consumables. I mostly use their Surgipath reagents for de-calcification of instruments that have come into contact with tissue samples. Using this to clean the instruments beats having to re-order a lot of equipment on a rotating basis.
Strengths: Reagents, Solutions, Decalcifiers, Fixatives
Needs to improve: US contact is practically non-existent, Isn't as well staffed as their Microsystems division
Leica Microsystems is are main vendor when ordering chemicals. There chemical are packed appropriately and shipped with proper documentation to ensure safety. The catalog also contain very good information about each of the chemicals properties as well as a handy reference. There sales representatives are very helpful and knowledgeable on the items that they are carrying in store. Highly recommended this company.
Strengths: good supplier of chemical products.

Most of our microscopes in lab are Leica. Their high quality scopes help our eyes not to get strained. Good quality lenses. We order accessories from them like eyes piece with radical, the customer service always know what we need and delivery is fast. It is expensive but just like any others high quality microscope product.
Strengths: High quality microscopes. Reliable repair work. Responsible customer service.

We have several Leica microscopes in our lab. We had to get warranty work on one of the units and Leica was very helpful. They have good customer service and fast turnaround on repair work. The faulty unit was returned within a few weeks in like new condition. We had a good experience working with Leica customer service.

Scopes are not cheap but well worth it. One of our many suppliers of scopes. We purchase the stereo scops for mfg floor use on our clean room to mfg microcoils for neurology. These are highly reliable and industrial strength scopes!

Leica makes very nice binocular microscopes for miniature assembly work. I personally find the Meiji's a bit easier to use for long periods of time, but Leicas are a close second.
