The world’s largest metrology company was founded in 1934 by Yehan Numata with one product – the micrometer. Mitutoyo’s philosophy at that time was to make the best mechanical micrometer in the world. But also to produce them in quantities that made them affordable and available to all of manufacturing so they could improve the quality of the products they manufactured. This philosophy was expanded in the next several decades to include a wider product offering focused on mechanical, dimensional gaging products. Mitutoyo focused its R&D and production efforts on creating the most advanced micrometers, calipers, indicators and other measurement tools in the world.
As electronic technology became more widespread in the 70s, Mitutoyo applied electronics to its line of dimensional gaging equipment to include electronic, or digital, measuring tools. During this time it also began to offer larger, more complex and more sensitive measuring instruments, including optical comparators, form measuring equipment, and coordinate measuring machines. As statistical process control (SPC Software) was introduced, Mitutoyo led the world in the development of output gages, interfaces, data collectors and analysis software to take advantage of this new metrology science.

Very satisfied with there products.This company have good customer service and very reliable on explaining and giving information about there product.

They have the best snap gauges and calipers. They are durable and accurate. I love them because they offer different sizes of tools for us to carry around with us.

Every engineer and inspection person was given a Mitutoyo caliper to use at work. We used them all the time.
Strengths: Solid Calipers. Easy to use. Measures both in inches and mm. Never had a problem with them going out of calibration.

Their gauges and digital calipers are very reliable and can be used many times without a problem. They are other ones that are cheap from other companies but they are not as good as mitutoyo

The make great instruments, but special orders will take a long time to fulfill.
Strengths: They make the best functioning calipers available. I can trust the results from this brand vs the cheaper knockoffs.

Super hand measuring tools, specifically calipers. All engineers and technicians are equipped with these. I couldn't imagine not having them available on a day-to-day basis. Excellent quality and easy to use

We use the calipers at work to measure the thickness of spacer and it's very precise/ accurate they have a great customer service that knowledgeable and the price is great

Our lab techs use their snap gauges, laser micrometers, calipers. They were all excellent quality, reliable, and accurate. Mitutoyo has always provided excellent service in the rare event that we have needed them

Mitutoyo has good quality measuring instruments. The manufacturing plant that I work for have other tools and utensils from. I use the force gauge to measure rotors on our pump to drains.

We use their pressure gauges to calibrate our machines and they are very accurate in measurement.
