I wanted to like MPC, I really did. I selelcted MPC to build a catheter tip based on a company tour, and the understanding that they have built many very similar tips and the project would not be a challenge. I had considered have a traditional injection mold constructed, but wanted the ability to change the mold without incurring a huge NRE. MPC failed to deliver parts on schedule for ~6 months, and the parts that did dribble in were often dirty. In addition, due to the proprietary MPC process, flash had to be removed from each part by hand. I finally saw the light and had an injection mold built, and now I can reliably get 1000's of perfect parts delivered on schedule and for 1/7th the price.
Strengths: Nice facility
Needs to improve: Delivery of high quality parts
We struggled with MPC for months before we had to take our component to another place. The parts that they gave to us were dirty, wrong sizes, and were always late. The promises hurt us more than anything, they would promise a delivery date and then not come through. They would not even let us know that the part wasn't coming and then we would call and email and get nothing from them till a few days later where we would get more promises that weren't kept.
Strengths: Experience
Needs to improve: Price, Unkept promises, Dirty parts
"Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up"
I really wanted MPC to work out, and I tried for months to support them in any way that I could, including purchasing additional runs of extrusion, and waiting, waiting waiting for parts. It was all in vain. After 8 months of getting 1-5 parts instead of 50-100, I had to cut them loose and go another way. I think that their determination to cling to their 20 year old proprietary technology is unworkable. I will not be back.
Strengths: None
Needs to improve: Production
I keep hoping for the best, only to be disappointed again. A number of times I've tried to use MPC because I felt the part I needed molded was simple to make using their process and they offered a 3 week delivery. Each time they missed the delivery, the quality was not as good as hoped for, at times unusable. :(
Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice shame on me.
Strengths: I keep trying to find out?
Needs to improve: Too many to list. Here's few... Over promising, Delivery Times, Quality

Keep hoping they will deliver as promised, only to be disappointed. I have tried to use MPC numerous times over the years. Each time they fall short. My fault for continuing to believe they've improved.
Most recently they promised a 3 week delivery on some parts. 12 weeks later still no acceptable parts. Injection Molder delivered the same parts in 10 weeks.
Strengths: Wish I knew? Over promising?
Needs to improve: Over promise. Take what ever delivery date they give you and double it. Quality is mediocre. Small to medium volume.

Pretty terrible experience all around. Mike seemed to be to busy to pay attention to my project and left it to his underlings to deliver, which they didn't.
Strengths: Supposedly, Mike at MPC is a genius at fabricating plastic components, melding different plastics together, etc
Needs to improve: In my entire career working with vendors, I've never experienced one that appeared to care less about meeting agreed upon timelines or responding to customer concerns in a timely manner.
Was the supplier of an injection molded component, but ultimately had to find an alternative because the quality was terrible--flash was not trimmed, cracks along the knit line, and debris on part.
Strengths: Friendly staff; Local to Bay Area
Needs to improve: Long lead times, Quality is questionable at times

Poor. Lots of promises, Little production.
Strengths: ???
Needs to improve: Over promise, Under deliver. Struggled for Months to produce a simple product, though quoted 3 weeks to deliver. Parts delivered had flash, part-lines and burnt material embedded inside.
Our firm sourced Modified Polymer Components to help us manufacture one of our medical devices. Our experience with them was a little disappointing as their turnaround time was slower than we expected and the mold we received was not of the best quality. Due to the slower time, manufacturing process was slowed down our time to revenue ended up being much later than we had hoped. For the cost of their services, I think you can find much better service. We do not anticipate using MPC again.
Strengths: none
Needs to improve: slow turnaround times, products are not great quality
The quality of Modified Polymer's Components is top notch, best we have ever seen. They can do some really amazing things with molds and plastics. We continue to go to them despite their turn around times. If you're ahead of schedule and want a quality product they are the go to. Will produce and fabricate what you want with superb quality. However if you rush them, it will show and if you're behind you may have to rush them. Quality comes at a cost, depends on what you value and your schedule.
Strengths: quality work, assembly, fabrication
Needs to improve: Their quality work takes time
We used MPC for secondary processing on tubing and other medical device based products. They do a decent job but nothing really special. They have had issues with meeting specs and lot to lot consistency is lacking. Customer service is okay but a lot of back and forth is needed to make sure your orders are done right. There are better options out there.
Strengths: Bay area location
Needs to improve: quality, delivery, cost
Had to wait and call a few times.
Strengths: Quality is good but timing is not so much!
Needs to improve: shipping takes awhile.
We currently order our medical component from them. We use these medical component as part of our simulated treatments that we perform in our lab. We also ship these with our device to our customers. You can't go wrong with their products. Their reps are great to work with too, and they have outstanding customer service.
Strengths: great quality product and fast service
Needs to improve: none
We currently us their services for our modified polymer components. Also
Modified Polymer Components specializes in the design, rapid prototyping and manufacture of reliable, highly precise polymer components, performing modifications of any complexity to custom and off-the-shelf plastic components.which is why we continue to do business with them
Strengths: They are a great place to go for polymer components
Needs to improve: Pricing can get you.
JUST OK
Strengths: QUALITY
Needs to improve: SLOW AND DONT MEET THE STANDARD

I have mixed feelings about MPC. They are nice people there and they have helped me in the past but they sometimes make promises they cant keep and it kills timelines and stalls projects
Strengths: Polymer knowledge is above average
Needs to improve: They do not always come through when you need them
They provide us with our modified polymer components and our reinforced tubing for our dialysis machines. They are a medical grade supplier of various plastic components for your manufacturing needs. Pricing is fair and their products are great.
Strengths: They can provide you with all your medical grade plastic tubing and injection molding.
Needs to improve: None
mixed experiences with MPC. there have been times they make extraordinary parts and sophisticated components such as composite catheter shafts wtih braids, mixed materials, liners, etc. And then there are times some parts just come like, okkkkk.....uhm....
Strengths: complex assemblies and parts.
Needs to improve: consistency, quality, delivery

Supplier for high quality and micro diameter plastic tubing for manufacturing of catheters and other medical devices. The vendor is reliable and dependable with consistent deliveries and quality product. We appreciate the helpful customer service team!
Strengths: Reliable quality plastic tubing for medical device use
Needs to improve: None I can recall
We used MPC for time to time for tip forming on our plastic tubing for prototype devices and It's a great place for small samples build.
Strengths: Great place for building prototype and quick turn around time.
Needs to improve: MPC is not a great source for mass production and expensive too
