NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS

I have used Labview and the NI hardware throughout my career at multiple companies. The software is a excellent and a robust piece of software that allows an engineer to focus on getting the results needed rather than spending too much time in the programming aspect. For prototype needs as well as production level needs, the software is capable of meeting all those needs at both ends of the spectrum. It is much easier to learn and begin getting results (data acquisition, signals, etc.)

The hardware is very high quality and well tested by the company, so you will know the capabilities and limitations of each hardware you use. It will hold up to the rigors of an engineering lab and constant changes in configurations. But just like the software, the integration of the hardware with the Labview package, makes putting together a test system extremely convenient and quick once you are capable.

Customer service has also consistently been excellent and local field support and sales engineers are readily available for basic needs.

Needs to improve: Pricey, but you get what you pay for

We consult with national insturment when it comes to data acquistion and analysis inquiries on how to set up our labview software program. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to various software layouts. They have helped us tremendously in product design, data acquistion, parameters to focus on, and etc. They work very efficiently and are quick to get back to you with your inquirities. They can even send an engineer to your facility to help get you started over at your facility. This of course comes with a price and they tend to be more expensive then others. However, we have been very pleased with the results and they have played an integral part in our process development. Highly recommend them.

I wrote my first LabView program in 1994 and attended my first formal training in 1998. Over the years I've used NI products and services and have always been pleased with the results. Customer support is top notch and technical support is easily the best I've dealt with period. NI is a first class company that appreciates it's customers.

Strengths: National Instruments develop tools that assist engineers in creating software applications that can control processes and collect data. LabView has become an industry standard for engineers in developing applications for the laboratory and manufacturing floor. Their software is robust yet flexible enough that your only limitation is your own creativity.

Needs to improve: Expensive. Although NI produces high quality products you pay for that quality and then some.

national instruments offers data acquisition hardware and software. their hardware is high quality and very durable. we use various types of fluids around the DAQ and so far, it’s held up rather well. of course we’re not dumping water on it, but it it’s seen a couple drops here and there. their software is not as difficult as full-fledged programming, but there is a bit of a learning curve, especially for people with little to no programming experience. overall, it is a great tool for data acquisition.

We use National Instruments hardware quite extensively in our R&D lab. We can set it up to aquire as much as 25 channels at a time. The software is very user friendly and allows for easy setup of tests and interpretation of data. The hardware is surprisingly inexpensive.

Strengths: National Instruments provides very powerful and user friendly data aquisition hardware and software. Their DAQ hardware can be installed into any PC and set up for aquring a lot analog signals such as temperature, pressure, flow...etc.. The systems are very accurate and the accompanying software allows for very easy viewing, analysis and data storage.

Needs to improve: None

We have purchased both connectors and testing equipment from National Instruments in the past. They are a little pricey but you pay for what you get which are industry standard high quality products. We have purchased high end connectors to integrate with our electrical systems for very delicate machinery and they integrated seamlessly into our system. Their testing equipment is also top notch, very precise. We are extremely pleased with our purchase and recommend these guys all the time. A+!

Very easy to use hardware. This in combination with their Labview software package make setting up any test program and DAQ pretty seamless and easy.
Not incredibly hard to learn but also not something you'll pick up in a day, but they do offer very effective training classes as well. But you can teach yourself this pretty easily with little or no programming background in a few weeks time if you try hard enough and become functional.

Needs to improve: A little over pricey but with good quality

Great customer service. Training programs are very effective at teaching use of the system.

Strengths: NI's lab view is a very valuable tool for data logging and analysis. It's drag and drop / connect type interface makes complex programming very easy for those of use who aren't so proficient at programming.

Needs to improve: The software and hardware aren't cheap but what you pay to set up a system, you make up in time saved programming an analyzing data.

LabView software combined with the NI hardware makes for a very powerful testing tool. We have used this equipment to do everything from perform a pressure decay test as part of device final QC to monitoring dimensional changes in synthetic vessels. The modular nature of the system allows the hardware to be constantly adapted to whatever new requirement is necessary.

Needs to improve: can get quite espensive

I have used their Labview software for some time now and have always found it very easy to use and convenient to be able to get my test system set up pretty quickly without having a complete CS background. Its not super easy, but probably much easier than learning C programming to get your hardware to respond.

National Instrument products that we received for our warehouse stock are use for equipment machine. they have wide selections for equipment supply, small electrical components etc., We stock them for our inventory. switch matrix module is one of the product that easy to repair or installed when things are going wrong.

They offer prepackaged software and hardware for data acquisition. National Instruments is high quality and holds up very well. The software isn't too crazy hard to use but does take some effort to learn, especially for those who don't program.

i've used their DAQ hardware a few times and have been happy with its performance. hardware seemed to be excellent in quality and durability. software was easy enough for me to make simple chagnes/mods as well with minimal experience or background

Used numerous NI DAQ solutions for some straightforward, non-complex automation systems. Associated Labview software is simple to use and has good customer support. For non-labview controlled systems, the module still are useful for direct triggering of other operations.

We have used Labview and associated controllers for just about everything. From creating virtual test equipment to running manufacturing equipment to spc. So versatile you can use it for just about anything. The Labview software is intuitive and so powerful.

We have used LabView for a ton of different projects, and it's versatility has really paid off. We mostly use an Omega DAQ block with LabView, so you don't necessarily have to go with the NI hardware (it can get pricey).

If you want to control you factory or do data acquisition on an experiment, National Instrument's LabView and controls will let you do it. Extremely versatile if you can think it you can do.

The software is excellent Lets me worry about what i am testing rather that how to setup the test.
