Our company has used Specialty Coating Systems Inc. for the past few years due to their attention to detail and their quality op products delivered. We have used them for coating of our devices, specifically when it comes to Parylene coatings, which provide medical components excellent moisture, chemical and dielectric barrier protection for the long term. In addition, Parylene has a low coefficient of friction for applications where lubricity is important and this can be a benefit when two parts are used together in unison. Again, a great company to work with and they are always looking into improving their internal process - staying on the leading edge.

Needs to improve: As with all medial vendor's the quality is extremely great, but delivery times are long.

We have been using specialty coating for years for surface treatment of stents and plastic coating for our PTFE lined guidewires/catheters. We worked closely with them on multiple projects creating a custom coating for our specific needs and they have been great to work with. They are very knowledgeable and able to answer all the questions we throw at them. They also work very quickly and we know we can rely on them if we are in a bind. Their pricing is very competitive and a great value considering the type of work they are able to provide us. We have had great success working with them as a partner on multiple medical device projects and will continue to use them for years to come. I highly recommend them.

Our company has used Specialty Coating Systems Inc for years because of their high quality products. We purchase chemicals and coating products from SCS to help us produce our many medical devices. We also use these chemicals in our testing process which provides accurate data readings. They offer competitive pricing, and have a great customer service team that is very knowledgeable and helpful in making sure your order is accurate and correct. Great vendor to work with.

Although ultimately we did not go with this firm for coatings. We had one of our consumer products in their coatings. The quality was way beyond our expectations. We were looking at different options for our products. SCS parylene was a bit of an overkill for what we were looking for. The pricing was more than other types of coating. The customer service was good, could be a little more informed about their products, but they knew their pricing structure.

Strengths: We have use Specialty Coating Systems for our Stents and Catheters for assembly to and R&D department. So far the quality has been good. Their conformal coating is ultra-thin and durable which is outstanding. Their products and services meet and if not exceeds or specifications. This company is very helpful and knowledgeable of their products. Quotes are accurate and the on time delivery is good. They are a great vendor to work with.

i’ve used specialty coating systems for large parylene coating batches. i normally send in batches of 150 and have sent over 20 batches over the course of 3 years. each have come back with the same high quality as our initial prototype order.
