Inefficient, Unreliable at Times

Unreliable! I was sending a package from Santa Clara to Richmond, CA via 1-day priority mail. The customer called after 3 days and said she still hasn't received her package. I tracked and the package go routed to Texas on its way back to California!!! How inefficient!

Another customer called and said she didn't receive her package and when we tracked, it said she received it. I talked to USPS and I called several local phone numbers; they all validated the package was shipped. We had to send the customer a duplicate product. 4 days later, the customer called and said she finally received her original package.

Several times we request for delivery pickup and the mail carrier doesn't come.

Strengths: Mail carrier can pick up package from office; there's online tracking

If I could.. I try not to use the USPS. Their customer service is horrible. They have an," it's not our fault we lost you package" additute. Whenever I am forced to use USPS, I purchase so much insurance that it;s no longer an economical way in shippng.
If shipping over seas I do not use USPS- I have lost so many packages using them and they will not help in looking for your lost item...unlike their competitors-which I rather use them USPS..

Strengths: LOCAL OFFICES

Needs to improve: HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE High risk in loosing packages bad customer service long( over an hour) wait time on phone

Personally: I wish I had other options for receiving and mailing general mail. I consistently receive other peoples mail and others receive mine.

Professionally: Poor customer service but their rates are very reasonable when compared to FedEx and UPS for comparable services. I would feel much more comfortable with USPS if they offered true tracking as opposed to delivery confirmation.

Strengths: Domestic shipping

Needs to improve: Customer service and reliability.

Cheap way to get small packages delivered fast.

They're good 90% of the time. Just make sure to be there during regular hours when the package is expected to arrive, otherwise you might not get it for another two days (with no detailed info on what's going on).

Strengths: Priority mail is my go-to for getting small packages across the country within 2-3days cheaply. The pricing for distance and that amount of time is lower than Fedex or UPS.

Needs to improve: Their tracking detail is horrific. Sometimes even inaccurate - they'll say they delivered when they haven't. This happened at times when nobody opened the door to the mailman and we didn't receive the package. It took them two days later to retry the delivery.

Most reliable and dependable postal service in the USA!

Our company depends on reliable shipping and USPS is a lifesaver. It truly is the main postal system that we all know and trust to get our shipments to where they need to be safe and on time! The reliable service is always consistent, whether it is in supply of boxes, or if its a simple letter mail. Not only are the prices reasonable but they make sure they protect your shipment no matter what it takes!

Strengths: Great delivery!

Needs to improve: none

Service sucks but can't argue with the prices.

I only use USPS for shipping regular sized letters. For any other type of shipping of packages I rather go to UPS. UPS is just much easier to deal with incase a package gets lost.

Strengths: Ships anywhere. Reliable.

Needs to improve: Horrible customer service. Good luck getting any help on the phone. Tracking system is useless. I prefer to use UPS whenever I can but if it is something small like a letter USPS is it.

Our office often uses USPS in order to deliver packages and important letters. While it offers competitive pricing, and availability, USPS has not been very reliable in making sure our packages arrived at their expected destinations. They have often gotten lost, and not returned, and customer service is not very helpful in rectifying the problem. If you need reliable service, might be better to look elsewhere.

for the price its a excellent option if you don't need the reliability of a FedEx or UPS. you generally get what you pay for, so just consider your needs when you select your shipping options of USPS/FedEx/UPS. their tracking system is pretty much useless as well, but its hard to beat the prices USPS offers

Strengths: cheap, a local post office is always nearby, saturday delivery

Needs to improve: customer service, not as prompt as fedex or ups

"Postal Clause", Article 1, Section 8, Clause 7. pricing is still far cheaper using USPS than any of the other services like FedEx and UPS. although their tracking system is annoyingly useless..still can't beat their pricing. Unless FedEx one day wants to bring down their price of a simple letter from some $10 to the 50cents it is with USPS....

Strengths: Its in the Constitution, its cheap

Long lines and slow service. The only good thing is you don't need to go to the U.S. Department of State to apply for your passport, you can just do it in your local post office.

Strengths: Locally located, common mailbox location, passport application process

Needs to improve: A bit slow, their tracking system not on par with other postal services.

Don't forget about USPS for your shipping needs

For anyone who's gone to the PO, you know that the people working the counter don't offer the best customer service, but it's hard to beat their prices, so I overlook it.

Strengths: Inexpensive, delivered to every home in the US at no extra charge if it's a residence or a business

We use the united states poastal service for mailing all of our business letters and documents. They are cheap and reliable. Saturday delivery has come in handy many times.

Strengths: Reliable, cheap and saturday delivery.

Needs to improve: Customer serivce can definately be improved. It is very difficulat to get someone on the phone to help out with problems.

USPS is a relic of what it used to be; packages many times are not delivered on-time or get lost in transit. Service is poor especially when trying to locate a lost parcel.

Strengths: Affordable and widely known.

Needs to improve: Lost packages, poor tracking of packages and poor customer service practices.

We use the USPS at our Facility. They always come in the morning and do a great job. The postman is always nice and has a smile on his face.

Strengths: USPS is great if you need to send a letter across town or a few states away. They always guarantee safe delivery.

Needs to improve: nothing

Good for flat rate and delivery time is not bad, but customer service could be improved.

Marginal service and inconvenient,

Strengths: There is a USPS in just about every town. The flat rate boxes are also a pretty good deal.

Needs to improve: Terrible hours and their customer service does not come close to competitors like UPS, FEDEX, etc.

USPS is consistently the cheapest method of shipping anything from one destination to another. I have yet to use their global services, but their domestic prices can't be beat. The tracking system is archaic, but no one is perfect.

Slow service and longer lines. When sending our client's application forms, sometimes it is taking so long to receive it unless you pay priority mail which is more expensive.

Strengths: Convenient location, cheaper

Needs to improve: Delayed delivery, post office staffs sometimes are not nice

Average service but when we need to ship an item we are better off going elsewhere just because of the poor package tracking system

Used stamp.s.com to print label and shipping label. The postman came and picked it up. Reliable service
