American Airlines Inc

probably one of my least favorite airlines to fly. horrible fleet of planes and i feel i need to immediately launder my clothes after i get off. customer service is bleh, and the tendency of the airlines these days to constantly nickel and dime you on everything....i'll just try to avoid them as much as i can

I've been really disappointed the few times I've had to fly with them. They seem like a dying company.

Strengths: They have a nice logo.

Needs to improve: Charges for everything. Inflexible staff.

I used to fly American all the time, but as of late the customer service is terrible, they charge for bags, I always get stuck in a middle seat and they are rarely on time. They do have a lot of routes which may the only reason to use them.

Strengths: A lot of flights

I only use American when there are no other options. I don't think I have ever had a positive experience on any of their flights. The flights are usually overbooked, under staffed and never on time.

Strengths: American Airlines flies every major city, lots of flights and good mileage program

Needs to improve: Planes are not very clean, frequently late, poor customer service

Before switching airlines, I flew AA a bit. But I started to feel that the prices were getting more and more expensive. I also like the status perks more on other airlines.

Finally, the change fees are insane, and after changing my flights I received flight voucher since the flight was cheaper, but you only have 1 year to use it then you lose it.

I will say their customer service is exceptional, and very helpful.

mainly just use them if i have to go to dallas, since they have hub out there and easy to get direct flights there. otherwise, nothing great about the airline and i prefer to fly other airlines

not that great of experiences with AA. hoping it'll get better after all this bankruptcy. haven't flown them in years either, so hope it has improved. wasn't great when i did fly with them

Overall I will fly AA if I have too when there price and the number of stops is best. Otherwise I prefer some of the other airlines.

Strengths: American Airlines has a lot of routes that I fly. They have been around a long time and usually get me to my destination on time.

Needs to improve: Customer service is not as good as you expect. The ticket counter representative on one of my flights was very rude.

i've had good and bad experiences with american. but every time i have talked to them on the phone, they've been nothing but helpful. now with the acquisition of us airways, frequent fliers now have more choices on airlines to use their points!

Strengths: reliable airline and name, many partners for points

One of the less expensive airlines in my opinion. They don't have many non stop destinations that accommodate me personally, but anytime I have flown with them there haven't been any delays or problems and there prices seem very reasonable. I think I read that they are merging with us air which should mean more destinations and make them one of the largest airlines around.

Neutral. I will fly again but prefer Delta or Southwest if I have a choice.

Strengths: Website is easy to navigate. Tickets are competitively priced. Lots of direct flight options.

Needs to improve: Switching flights is very costly. Customer service takes a long time to get a hold of. I have had a few flights cancelled from weather and they were not very accommodating at all.

Have had an issue when a flight was cancelled and I was then placed on standby on a different flight but got a nice credit so didn't mind

Strengths: I use American for my international travel. I use them often so I get upgraded to business class which is a good experience.

Needs to improve: No wifi on the planes ive been on. Makes it difficult to always book with them.

I fly American fairly frequently. Can't say that I either like or dislike them. Who really enjoys flying these days on any airline.

Needs to improve: Like all other airlines, they charge for everything and customer service is mediocre.

Staff have been dismissive of requests, poor in-flight entertainment options

Another airline that needs to update... We experienced some delays.

Strengths: Fly almost anywhere.

Needs to improve: Can get expensive if you need to change flights for whatever reason.

They are never on-time and do not care at all.
