Never had any major issues with their relays they are dependable which us why we still continue to our relays from them. ametek supplies our force gauges (mark-10) on the production floor. we need equipment that is reliable and durable since its used every day, and their material testing equipment and force gauges are just that. it’s also a great alternative (both physically and financially) to mts or instron. they are very simple and straight forward to use.

AMETEK manufactures Lloyd and Chatillon products. We have Chatillon Gage's for applications were quick results are required and strain rates are not a concern. We also use a lot of Lloyd grips such as the yarn and fiber grips. These decent grips for testing of braided fibers and wire. Both products lines offer reliable operation at a reasonable cost.

i have used their chatillon table top single column tester many times and its a cheap alternative to get a tensile tester without spending the money you would need for a MTS or instron. software and programming it isn't as useful, so its been mainly manual operation. the force gauges are great and versatile

Great tester that uses a range of load cells to test compression or tension of an item. When having issues and called their customer service number i had to call back cause the expert was on vacation and they had no one that could help me.

We had Lloyd design and manufacture a custom piece of test equipment to assess the adhesion of a lubricious coating to our catheter shaft. While the final product was somewhat cumbersome, the machine worked fine and had the ability to catch adhesion issues prior to releasing the product into the field.

Needs to improve: Be careful when picking from their color palettes for anodizing. Each time I wanted the same color done as before, the shades of coloring was different. They also lost one of our parts.

We order electrical components from Ametek. They offer quick delivery on product. Their customer service is always friendly and knowlegeable as well. When issues happen with the equipment they help us find a solution in timely manner. Prices are fair but it's worth it.

We contracted out our anodizing to Amex Plating and were pleased with the cost and turnaround time. The quality of work was great. Customer service was very helpful, information and always happy to address any of our concerns. Will use again.

Their equipment is more simple when compared to the MTS and Instron, so any complicated cycles will probably not be feasible on a Chatillon system, however, it is a great alternative when you need a simple system to perform tensile testing.

I use the Lloyd LS1 almost everyday and its a great universal tester. I use it for everything break test, stiction test, compression test, drag test, and pull test. Can't go wrong having one of these in your R&D.

Strengths: They have process experts on staff to help figure out specialized applications for parts cleaning and coating.

Needs to improve: If you're doing anodization, they don't have enough capacity to do any color you want quickly, but they can do it if you wait a bit.

the hand held load cells they make are excellent and extremely useful. i don't find their software package very useful however. chatillon test stand is useful for its cost, but for more capable tests, a instron or MTS is highly recommended.
