I first realized how well adhered the PTFE was to the wire when I had to remove the coating from a short section of wire to allow for welding of a ring. With the traditional green coating, this was easy to do. We had to abandon the AP wire for this purpose because we couldn't remove the coating sufficiently to get good welds. I have used their mandrels exclusively ever since.

Applied Plastics provides the best PTFE coating for wire, tube and pretty much everything else. Their coating, usually grey, is MUCH more durable than the green stuff and is at least as lubricious. I only go to AP for Teflon coating, and have purchased everything from catheter components to manufacturing fixtures from them. Customer service is excellent, and the finished product is even better.

I get all of my PTFE coated mandrels here, as it stays on the mandrel and doesn't flake off like the green stuff. These mandrels release from the catheter bonds and have longer life than your standard green mandrels. Save yourself the headache and get your mandrels here. I have also had them coat some centerless ground mandrels for production use with great results.

Applied Plastics has a PTFE coating/process which is second to none. It's extremely durable. I've used their coating on both products and manufacturing tooling. The manufacturing tooling lasts and lasts. We have a maintenance schedule for replacement of the tooling that we keep extending as to the PTFE coatings don't appear to wear. Great Stuff

They are the best at PTFE coating of plastics and metals. I have used them to apply coatings to SS mandrels. Quality and pricing is excellent, they are on time, but they provide little flexibility to improve their lead times.

We use the PTFE Natural Fluoropolymer Coated Medical Grade Wire in our coiling and delivery systems. The quality is of the highest material. They are one of our major suppliers. We rely on them often.

Applied Plastics has provided me with Medical Grade PTFE coated 304 SS coated mandrels. They have the ability to make continuous lengths. Their coating is durable with a smooth finish. Their mandrels are great for prototyping and everyday manufacturing.
