Overall the experience with Digi-key has been outstanding. I have used there online WEB site for ordering parts and they have sent confirmation about the shipment, invoice , etc.. This is great as I do not have to wonder about my order is really going to arrive as stated on the site. Furthermore, I have spoken to their customer service and they have been more then will to help me resolve any issue; discrepancies, packaging slips, invoice, etc... They are a very professional company to work with.

Strengths: Digikey has all the connectors, switches, cables, hardware, industrial controls, integrated circuits, components, etc.. that you can possible think off from a mechanical / electrical needs. In addition, once you have found a specific item there is the manufacture's information relating to the part - spec's, part model, etc... This makes cross-referencing components a snap. Although, I want to that using their WEB site can be difficult to navigate through, but once you have done it a few times it becomes second nature.

Needs to improve: I would have to say that the WEB site can be trying at times. It is difficult to navigate and do searches if you are not exactly sure on the specific item you are looking for. Sometimes when you find a certain item, it does not give you the full range on what might be available at the time. Another thing is some of the models can be incorrect, verify the model against the specification and you can usually put this to rest.

Overall experience with digikey has been great. I have never really had any bad experience with them but have heard that people who ordered from them did not get what they wanted. I think its because they were too lazy to look at the spec sheets for their components. But personally I have only had pleasant experiences.

Strengths: Digikey has all the components that you would need. the only thing difficult is navigating there website using there search GUI. But if you can figure that out then you will not find a better price for the component you need. They have spec. sheets for their components so you don't have to second guess yourself.

Needs to improve: Their website is the only thing I have against Digi-key. I just cant get use to the way they setup the search page. It keeps you guessing if you have made a selection or not. And the images you see of the product you have to ignore because although it looks like what you need it might not be. Best bet is to verify the spec sheet.

I have ordered many components from this site and the parts that came were always of high quality and performed to specifications. The selection of components is very large. The shipping is usually quite fast. Getting a receipt/invoice with all necessary information sometimes was a hassle.

Strengths: Digi Key has a large catalog and selection of electronic components, making finding the component you want relatively easy. The ability to set ranges for specifications and see what components are available and their price is the best feature of the catalog.

They always have shipped the order very quickly and have never lost my parts.

Needs to improve: Using the search engine embedded in the website almost never bring up the part you want. You always have to use browse. Obtaining a proper invoice / receipt can sometimes be a hassle.

We use Digi-Key equipment for our assembly line. Their tools are always helpful for our company. The have great products and they keep my company happy. They have a wide selection and different sizes for different jobs my company encounters. Their customer service reps are always very polite and knowledgeable. They give you the latest product information and make sure it's affordable for my company. Every time my company orders from them, the tools always get delivered to us the day it's supposed to or a couple days before.

Strengths: Digi-Key had great customer service. Their very knowledgeable about their tools and equipment. Digi-Key has a wide variety of equipment. Their very knowledgeable and helpful when my company needed various information and specifications.

Needs to improve: They have no weaknesses

We ordered our force gauges from them about 2 years ago and these gauges have not disappointed . They have done an exceptional job in insuring that our pump door closes with the right amount of hand pressure that is within our spec. They are very easy to use and light weight as long as you keep the battery fully charged you should have no problems. Digi-key not only supplies great test equipment but they also carry some of the best electronic parts for all your design and repair needs.

Strengths: They have some of the best electronic test equipment and measuring tools on the market.

Needs to improve: Depending on what your looking to obtain from them the sticker shock might get you.

Overall, Digi-Key Corporation has been very professional. Excellent products. Never had to do a return. A little slow on the shipping, but accurate on the products themselves. Packaging is well done. No issues on the shipping containers. Met our company needs and has an easy re-order system.

Needs to improve: A little slow on the shipping. At least for our company, I feel like the raw products don't get to our location as quickly as we would like. However, the distance between MN and CA could be a factor. Pricing could be a little better.

We have ordered so many components from Digikey and we're sure its only the tip of the ice burg of what Digi has to offer. They're always instock and ship items right away. If you ever have a difficult time deciding what to get their sales staff is super helpful and guide you to the right choice. That choice isnt the most expensive either! Great guys that treat you as equals. We all want to make the most profit and with Digikey the most profit comes from the long lasting relationship with companies.

They provide us electronic components and no issues at it. Quality products with a wide selection of products. They deliver it fast with no hassle or anything and they give low cost products that is high quality! so I highly recommend this with a good customer service representatives that are helpful to our process!

Their phone support is outstanding. They can deliver overnight, even if you order late in the day. They rarely make an error in an order.

Strengths: Their web site is outstanding for searching for electronic components of any kind. Their catalog and web site have a huge range and depth of products, but their web site has information on far more things. They have the most searchable web site I have every used. You can search on a large range of key categories that are unique to each type of part. They also have great customer service and fast shipping.

Needs to improve: Not everything is in stock. For large volumes they are not the lowest cost.

We use digi-key occasionally when we can't find components we need, or to price check against other vendors for various electronic components. Often, Digi-Key can provide what we need for less, or often times has what we need that others don't. We've purchased various cabling assemblies, adapter cards, and fiber optic as well as coaxial connectors and have had no issues so far with the products. Only thing I would say is that the website could definite use an update, but its a small gripe and actually matches the huge no fuss inventory they offer.

We've contracted with Digi-Key corporation since the expansion of our facilities. We were in need of some products and equipment and they were a one stop shop for these services. Luckily for us the quality of their products was also very good and they were backed by the name and experience of a bigger company so we decided to source the products from them. So far the ordering has been easy and the turn times acceptable. Cost are in line with other competitors, but they save us money in that we can source most of our needs directly from them. Thumbs up!

Great source of testing and electronics parts for our machine. I install their circuit boards to our medical machines and I got no issues about it. I use their testing equipment like their safety analyzer for calibrating and measuring the electricity of our machines and it is very reliable. The overall issues I have with these product is the location source because it is out of state and sometimes it takes time for them to deliver their equipment.

We currently order electronic parts and testing equipments from Digi-key on a daily basis for our dialysis machines. We use a lot of their force gauge equipments for testing the pump doors on the dialysis machines and works under manufacturing specifications. Their circuit boards, sensors, resistors and electronic components are also great and reliable for our assembly line and testing purposes. All of their equipments and parts are easy to use and install onto our machines. Very high quality. Their customer service is knowledgeable and helpful with our orders. Fast delivery service.

Well Established Supplier of Large Selections of Product - You Can Find Almost Anything You Are Looking For.

Strengths: We use Digi-Key for a number of parts from them such as; Electronic Components, Connectors and Interconnects, Fasteners, Board ware, etc... They are one of the companies out there that has the largest selection of products. I find that their website is very functional and easy to navigate considering their large selection of products. No complaints. Quality meets if not exceeds our specifications. Most of the time delivery is on time. Quotes and orders are placed accurately.

Needs to improve: Initiating the Online Chat Support could be a bit faster.

Needs to improve: Digi-Key has lots of competition in this category. If they have a weakness, it might be that they don't offer anything unique to their customers. Digi-Key & Mouser do basically the same exact thing, just different companies.
