Over the past three years we've ordered two balloon bonders (~$20K/Each) and a vertical laminator ($40K). The products were all of good quality and worked as expected. The problem is the service they provide and their complete inability to meet their quoted deadlines. Even more troubling is there inability to notify their customers about possible delays in meeting their schedule. They have the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced and if it weren't for the quality of their equipment I would never use them. If there was another vendor who could make the equipment they do I would switch to them in a second. I write this as I'm once again disappointed in their inability to deliver a piece of equipment that is already late by almost 30 days. A piece of equipment they said would be delivered today is once again late and again we are calling them to ask about this instead of them calling us about being late again.

Strengths: Good products.

Needs to improve: Absolute terrible customer service and a total inability to meet established deadlines with total disregard for their customer needs. They have no sense of responsibility to their customers and do not communicate the status of projects when they clearly know they will be late on a project.

Decent customer service while you inquire about products. As soon as you place an order, you will not hear from them. 2 month delay on one of our purchases that they did not tell us about, ignored all calls and emails. Large or small orders, does not matter, it will not come on time and you will have no updates on where it is in manufacturing. Our company buyers strongly discourage us from ever having to use them for any products. 1000% DO NOT recommend.

We've ordered many processing equipment from Beahm, This is one of their specialties. We recently ordered a fixture that they said would be no problem. This was an understatement. Not only were they late with the delivery but the fixture did not meet our specifications. We had to return it for rework. It was promised to be redelivered by the end of May. It finally got to us on June 4th. It agin does not meet our specifications. Very frustrating and extremely disappointed.

I’ve used both Beahm and non-Beahm (Machine Solutions) hot boxes for catheter development and have found that Beahm hot boxes are a notch above the rest. Simply put, their housing is smaller with the same capabilities and Beahm hot boxes seem easier to customize. Depending on the application, you can order various nozzles with the hot box, but if you don’t feel like purchasing it directly from Beahm themselves, then it’s easy to draft up your own and send it out to a local machine shop or an in house one, if you have one. I do have one disappointment with Beahm, which is that they do not always deliver equipment on time when I’ve purchased new equipment from them several years ago. Maybe they’ve ramped up since then?

Overall I'm happy with the machines i've used from Beahm Designs. They are well built, and easy to operate. It would be nice if it were easier to get an engineer on the phone, but outside of that I've encountered very little issues with this company.

Strengths: Beahm designs and manufactures machines that are designed to help build catheters. Hot boxes, preshrink machines and catheter laminaters. These all purpose machines are designed well and perform well. These machines are great for new companies that don't have the resources to design their own custom systems.

Needs to improve: Communication seems to be an issue. I've reached out several times to Beahm looking for documentation on a few systems we own, and found it hard to receive a return phone call.

We've ordered many processing units (thermal bonders) from Beahm Designs. They manufacture robust and reliable equipment that are easy to maintain and use. The thermal bonders we have have easy to read and set thermal controllers. Some of the units have a vacuum and pressure setting as an option. Beahm offers personalized service (often from Brian or Anita the owners). They can improve on accurately quoting delivery dates. We have had numerous delivery delays as well as having to return items that did not meet our requirements.

When you work at a start-up there is never time to wait for anything so when I need a hot box, I usually call these guys and Hot Air Systems and buy the unit from whoever can 1) deliver it faster and 2) sell it for less. I have purchased a few of the Beahm units this way, and feel that their polish is a bit higher than their competitor, but in day to day use all the machines have performed identically. Beahm does have the advantage of a wider selection of process automation equipment once your needs grow out of the simple hot box.

Strengths: Our company has used Beahm Designs to sourced some of their Tipping and Bond/Fuse products. Their technical staff has us help with selecting tubes for processing compatibilities with our process to achieve measurable higher yield. They have wide slelection which you choose from. Their products were easy to use and maintain. Their engineered assistance support very good and responsive. Their pricing is competitive and they have reliable services. Their quality is very good. Their customer service is good. Quotes are accurate and delivery is ok. Delivery is on time most of the time.

anita and her husband at beahm are indeed experts in the matter of catheter assembly equipment. they offer heat shrinkers and hot boxes that you can alter with custom nozzles and fixtures that’ll best fit your particular application. they are also knowledgeable in thermal bonding processes. it’s unfortunate that their lead time for custom equipment usually results in a couple week delay from when they promise delivery.

Our firm has sourced many thermal bonders from Beahm Designs. They manufacture easy to use and reliable equipment that are easy to maintain. The thermal bonders we have purchased have thermal controllers that are very easy to set. They also have various different options where we can adjust different settings. One thing I have noticed is that their turnaround time is not always the quickest so it can cause delays in your manufacturing process.

Their highly specialized machinery brought our ideas and designs to life and their dedication to quality was quite evident in every part of the development process. We were delighted with their dedicated staff and both the technical and customer support we got when working with them. Recommended vendor for even the most intricate and tailor made catheter designs.

Beahm is a solid vendor that we have depended on in the past for several prototype designs for an Asia-based client with short fuse. I have purchased a number of hot boxes and heated clamshell die machines from Beahm. I never seem to have time to wait, and on a couple occasions, I have been able to buy equipment off the shelf. The equipment is high quality, durable and well thought out. They have a variety of nozzles and can help design custom nozzles to meet specific needs.

I've purchased hot air systems and custom equipment for bonding, tube slitting and laminating equipment. The equipment that Beahm Designs makes is of the highest quality and they stand behind it. The prices and lead times are reasonable. Brian Beahm and his team are always a pleasure to work with!

we use their fuse boxes in the lab for some custom moldings and fusing. their equipment is extremely reliable and top quality. their pricing is very good and shipments are on time. their also a local vendor which makes the speed of their shipments a lot fast and also pick up orders easier to pick up.

Beahm makes great Hot Air Boxes, both for Prototyping and Production environments. Their quality is consistent and they will custom make equipment upon request. Responsive Customer Service. They've personally delivered hot boxes to my house.

Their hot boxes have been extremely reliable and something I'm quick to purchase when they come available used, as I know they will work fine.

Beahm equipment has been the standard for catheter manufacturing and prototyping within the medical device industry.
For any engineer, their hot boxes are probably one of the first things you will need in your array of tools/equipment if you plan on designing and developing a catheter or such device.
