Direct Color Systems

By far, the worst experience I've had with a vendor in my professional career. We've had 2 DCS 7200 printer for about 3 years and it's been nothing short of a nightmare. Full of latent defects, poor engineering and beyond horrible technical support. On multiple occasions a tech would show up (and there have been many, many times a tech needed to come) and the first words would be "yeah, well, I've never done this before". Boy, doesn't that instill confidence.

So from someone who have been there, done that. Stay away. Far, far away. This is not a company that produces anything close to a reliable printer. And their management could care less.

Horrible business model, Got a 7200z in 2019 and has never worked properly, always bugging and never any updates. Tech support is slow and the printer is full of software issues. It would randomly stop printing, and just shut down. Sometimes it says no paper. And sometimes it says paper not installed. Right now the printer says low ink but all the levels are full and the probes are working. I called for support and they told me it would be 100$usd an hour for help now that my 1 year warranty is out. Expensive and not worth. DO NOT USE

Have worked in customer service/tech support for several electronics companies before starting my own business in 1991.

We bought a Direct Jet UV1024 which is a printer that can print on almost every type of surface which is great for R&D. The only issue is how much it needs to be serviced. I would recommend it for a manufacturing application but not so much for R&D unless you use it on a daily basis.

Strengths: Amazing printer and customer service

Needs to improve: Price and the printer is very service heavy.

Most commonly we use their printer to print our employee badges. Each badge has a face shot, name and logo. People don't lose them too often, but some get outdated or bent. I'd say we definitely got our money's worth from these guys.

My computer uses their printers fir printing our work badges. Ive had my work badge for years and even accidentally thrown it in the washer a few times and it still looks brand new. It is great quality and very durable. "Two thumbs up!"

Strengths: Great products for printing. We recently purchased one of their printers, which requires a lot of maintenance. But the customer service guy was great and answered all of our questions.
