I would not use Exponent for all of your testing. Most testing does not need the premium services that Exponent provides. If you need testing done that will be scrutinized, use Exponent. They will ensure that your tests are done correctly and will hold up under review. They are also great if you do not know how to perform a test or need help designing the testing regime.

Strengths: The main strengths of Exponent Biomechanical group is their expertise and reputation. You will be working with some great biomechanics experts. Everything from the quote to the final report are well written and very detailed. They have onsite load frames to perform the testing and you are encouraged to be present during testing. Besides the project leads, they have great support personnel. In many labs, the expertise of the Exponent support staff would be your lead on the project.

If equipment is needed which this office does not have, they can leverage their internal and external network to find a place that does have it.

They can design fixtures and arrange for fabrication as well.

Needs to improve: The in house expertise, professionalism and attention to detail all come at a price, cost. They are not cheap by any means. In fact, they can be up to twice as expensive as other labs. Be careful of up selling. While in many cases this can increase the data collected, make sure that it is necessary to your project.

When it comes to testing your medical devices there is no place better than Exponent Inc. They've been in the industry for a long time and are extremely knowledgeable. It was no surprise that when we were looking for testing services we chose to work with Exponent Inc. Their results are accurate and give a thorough report. They don't miss a thing. The expert team is another high point for them. They've provided great insight and solutions. We've never had any issues with them. We will continue to work with them and refer to others.

Our firm has heard that Exponent Inc is an industry leader in mechanical testing so we decided to outsource our testing to their 3rd party facilities and labs as we don't have the capacity to do everything in house. The results were fantastic. We were pleased by the level of data accuracy along with the reporting they provided. The testing is heavily involved in our assembly process so we need to make sure this gets done properly. Customer service is great as they took time to guide us through the entire process. Will definitely use again!

Our company uses Exponent Inc's products for our assembly process on the many medical devices we produce. We use everything from their electronic parts to their heavy duty hand and power tools for assembly equipment. They have everything you need and everything is easy to use and great to work with. They have great customer service that is knowledgeable in helping you with accurate quotes and a correct order. They have an efficient shipping process with a fast turnaround. Exponent is an industry leader in mechanical testing. We outsource our testing to 3rd party facilities and labs as we don't have the capacity to do everything in house. We were extremely pleased by the level of detail and data accuracy. We're paying for a service to deeply assess our prototypes so that is definitely appreciated. Customer service is great as they took the time to address all of our issues. Thei expert staff kept us informed and broke down potential solutions. Quality analysis and will use again.

We have contracted out Exponent Inc for ad hoc testing on some of our equipment and assembly line machinery. Their staff is extremely sharp, and dedicated to the job on hand. They were able to identify specific bottlenecks and inefficiencies and were able to point out the causes immediately. Additionally, they offered suggestions on how to maintain and upkeep our components to prevent these from arising again in the future. I highly recommend this group.

I like that Exponent Inc has multiple specialties so that I can utilize them for multiple projects. Most of the time, their services are contracted for our medical device products. They have specialized equipment in their mechanical engineering division that had conduced medical device failure analysis for our drug delivery systems. They may problem solving simple! They are very friends, knowledge and concerned with quality. Highly recommended!

They have a great team of scientists, physicians, engineers, and regulatory consultants that will perform either in-depth scientific research and analysis, or very rapid-response evaluations. You really can't go wrong with their services plus they are certified to ISO 9001 which is a big plus.

If you need an independent test lab to perform, testing on your medical device or implant, Exponent will certainly be able to do the job. You just may have to negotiate a price and date that you are happy with.
