Vander-Bend Mfg.

Used Vander-Bend Mfg to develop a product for manufacturing, by using their expertise for sheetmetal/machining fabrication to produce highly precision fabricated parts. Sometimes their lead-times are longer and their pricing is higher, but they have a great track record with producing high quality products, which out ways the delivery. Furthermore, we rely on their Quality Department for our FAI, certs, and COCs and they are top notch. Thus we do not have to out source for inspection needs. They are a great vendor to work with, always willing to go the extra distance and very responsive when there are issues with any part(s) being fabricated/delivered.

Strengths: Vander-Bend is a very highly accurate machining vendor. They are able to fabricate the print ideas into a real parts, when others could not do it. Their staff has a lot of experience with design - able to evaluate and suggest alternative methods to help reduce the overall cost and make it more manufacturable. Everyone at Vander-Bend was more then helpful when it came to customer service or we needed status on certain parts - they are a very highly competent group of folks.

Needs to improve: One drawback with Vander-Bend is the lead-times with regards to quotes, sometimes the lead-time can be longer - could be due to being more thorough, etc... Sometimes when they are machining/fabricating a new part the delivery times can slip due to unfamiliarity with the part.

We often produce one off fabrications for clients that require us to source out some design tuning. We reached out to Vander Bend and were pleased with the results. Quality work product with a great support staff behind it. Customer service was great with accurate quotes, insight and quick turnaround. Will consider outsourcing to again.

Strengths: They are great to work with to refine the design. We had a couple of issues in the final stages with our design, and our small tweaks were happily accommodated.
