my company falls under the provider sector that optum provides services for. their software has helped us to streamline our workflow from the initial steps of providing patient care to reimbursement, coding and documentations, aligned incentives, to patient satisfaction and cost. making our process more streamline has reduced our cost, time and improved our clinical performance. optum has an analytical department that works with your firm directly to see areas that need to be improved - this is almost like an additional consulting resource. ICD-9 code billing as been something optum has been helping us with and with the this year ends change to ICD10, they are currently working with us now to prepare for that change
Strengths: optum ties all of the healthcare system together including the providers, the employees, the patients, healthcare plans.
Needs to improve: none
The online portal has been beneficial to our employees and is fairly easy to use. Overall they are a reliable service and always available to help answer questions. It took us a few weeks to implement everything but after that it was smooth.
Strengths: Their team was very experienced and easy to work with. They were thorough and friendly in helping us with implementation.
Needs to improve: The development process could be more streamlined. There was a lot of back and forth with the specs and communicating what we wanted.
my company has partnered up with Optum to manage all of our employees' health screenings that with their providers. when they get their lab results ordered by their individual MD's, it is populated on our personal portal with Optum which we use to generate their heath savings account. the Optum online user interface they created for our employees is very easy to use, clear and concise without unnecessary info populated on the site. the Mds we work with love it too

We contract Optum to manage our employee health benefits administration. Their online portal and infrastructure allow for a more seamless interaction between doctors and clients. Customer service is great and always helpful should an issue arise. Customizing solutions for our firm was easy as their expert staff guided us throughout. Anything that increases our efficiency and company morale is a no brainer for us.
