I would recommend using Westpak for all of your packaging testing needs. They have never let me down any of the dozens of times we have used them.

We have used Westpak for almost all of our packaging testing for our products. We had many individually packaged devices and tools as well as large kits which we used Westpak to test for us. They have all the necessary equipment and expertise to get the job done correctly so there are no questions about the if the results are valid. They know the standards inside and out so you do not have to. They take care of the setup and testing so all you have to do is drop off the product you want to test.

For distribution testing, we have sent over product after product. Luckily for us, most of our products do pass on the first testing pass but we have had on several occasions a failure of the product during this testing. Westpak has worked with us to retest the product or exam the failure to try and determine a solution.

Dye penetration testing and bubble testing are two additional tests we have used Westpak for extensively. These are simple tests for packaging integrity but they have a nice setup to make it easy to see during the bubble test.

Lastly, used them for accelerated aging quite a bit. Good to have someone with the large capacity for performing this testing. This is not a short test when you are looking for a 2-3 year shelf life so you want to make sure that the product was maintained at the correct conditions so it doesn't have to be repeated. Westpak has never messed this up for our products which very important when you are woking on tight deadlines with tests that takes weeks or months of conditioning even prior to testing.

Just make sure you contact them as early as possible when you know what tests you would like the to perform so they can give you availability of their machines and employees.

Needs to improve: Since they are good, they are busy so sometimes it can take a bit of time to schedule your testing.

We contracted Westpak for Packaging and shelf life age testing and the result of their service is really exceptional. While they are working we noticed that the equipment and materials that they are using is of high quality and those things really helped them to produce quality service. They are very professional with their work because they make sure that we are satisfied with the outcome. And what we actually expect is what we get. With Westpak and our team combined together we are really amazed by the result and effect to our company. They helped us to accomplish things that other vendors can but unlike Westpak they are offering excellent service that you can see with their works. We love how they communicate and discuss things with us they are good in communication as well as their representatives that is very reliable because they are knowledgeable and able to walk us through with our concerns with a timely manner. We will definitely continue to work with this vendor.

Needs to improve: Because they are too popular and reliable when it comes to the services that they offer they are too busy to accommodate all of their customers.

I’ve used three different packaging test companies in my career so far. Westpak has been my favorite by far. Although all three companies are well informed in packaging standards, Westpak’s customer service trumps them all and that’s why they’ve earned my business. Wil and Katie were great assets when we encountered a pouch seal issue, which penetrated through multiple lots of several lines of product (that’s what happens when you use the same packaging for all products; take one down, take them all down). They offered advice as to how to proceed with the root cause analysis and even supplied some test supplies on the house. On a side note, if you attend their annual open house, you get a 10% discount on your next quote. Todd in shipping and receiving is also a friendly face to see when you’re dropping off product or picking them up.

Needs to improve: I have nothing poor to say about Westpak. Their entire staff, from the support staff up through the engineers are a pleasure to work with.

We created a business deal with Westpak. We contracted them with their engineering services for our production department. With the service that they render they are able to meet our expectation and even exceed it. They use high quality tools and equipment along with their professional staff and with that the result of their service is really amazing. We noticed that they are trained in using their high quality equipment that makes their works easy and very professional. They are easy to work with because they value good communication with us. They always ensure that we are satisfied with their service. Our department is very pleased to work with them and we will continue to create business deals with them.

Needs to improve: Website is slow to respond and it lacks information. Sometimes we still need to call their representatives to answer our questions.

We use Westpak for all of our packaging validations. They have packaging engineers that fully understand all of the packaging validation requirements and will work with us to develop the appropriate test plan. They will also write the protocols, analyze all of the ISO or FDA audit.

Strengths: Westpak has the technical expertise and resources to perform all packaging validation testing and validation. They can also provide consulting services to help solve packaging problems. Additionally, they will write the validation protocols and final reports.

Needs to improve: It can sometimes be difficult to get testing scheduled in a timely manner. Unless you are willing to pay very high expedite fees, testing will not start for at least two weeks.

We use WESTPAK as a tester of many things throughout our stores, they are the absolute best at testing for many things whether it be package, mechanical, or any other type of testing they are absolute best. They have excellent customer service for their testing as well as great prices. Their testing services are done with great speed, which greatly speeds up our processes. I highly recommend them.

We've been using them for years for accelerate aging and packaging testing. They communicate with us in a very professional way with very good quality service and reliability.

Strengths: Westpak is great in finding the right solutions to all engineering firm because of their special test fixtures, procedures, and even equipment to conduct specialized testing for their clients and customers. They assured everyone to receive a consistent testing service and report every time to their customers with high integrity and customer service which are priceless components in testing.

Very knowledgable group with extensive capabilities. Westpak has several aging chambers contstantly running at various temperatures, so you can begin accelerated aging testing to your specifications almost immediately. They also have the full array of specialized equipment to perform the wide range of testing specified by ASTM 4169. Their customer service and project management skills are great at keeping track of all of the packages, and making sure that your product is handled appropriately.

Great company for shipping, packaging and aging testing. They have several chamber and if we need it they can start the aging test immediately with expedite fee. Customer service there reply the emails and calls fast so it helps to move things even quicker.

Bay Area local company, we use them for gross leak testing our pouches. I have only used them so far for that, but would definitely recommend this company to anyone else needing their pouches to be gross leak tested or any other kind of testing.

westpak is my goto vendor for packaging related testing and aging. wil and katie are professional and follow-up with their clients to ensure that the product is handled correctly. i’ve always received the official report in less than 5 days, which is the quoted delivery time.

We have used WESTPAK as a package tester, they do this very efficiently and at a excellent price. They will make sure that your product (package) is absolutely perfect. As the headline states, can always expect a quote from them within 24 hours. The quality of work is always great, and the reports are very clearly written. There test engineers understand that frequent status updates are key!

Westpak performs all the shipping/transit testing on site. Being present during the initial testing with the Westpak engineers save lots of time addressing the issues.

Needs to improve: Due to Westpak's popularity, sometimes difficult to schedule testing time to meet aggressisve timeline.

I have had an opportunity to watch a testing for a packaging solution. The team was really cooperative and understanding. The technician helped me understand the procedure and how the testing was done.
